Respond.io
Respond.io is tuning its AI agents for how messaging actually behaves, not how APIs do.
A side-by-side editorial comparison of ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus Cloud and Frill — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
ServiceDesk Plus Cloud is putting ITSM where the work happens — Slack first, Zia everywhere else.
The cloud edition ships small, frequent dated updates that mix one enhancement with a short list of issue fixes. The current thread is surface expansion rather than new ITSM capability: Slack slash commands now collect request ID, subject, description and target instance through a pop-up instead of positional arguments, and the change scheduler gained an option to show overlapping changes for the selected week or month. Zia, Zoho's own hosted LLM, continues its region-by-region rollout.

Frill just made its feedback board readable by any AI assistant, on every plan.
Frill is a feedback, roadmap, and changelog tool that has spent the past year on distribution plumbing — EU hosting, SSO for Okta and EntraID, multi-language, custom domains, a public npm SDK, and a Chrome extension. Releases arrive as monthly bundles rather than continuous drops. As of August 2, the MCP server that had been in public beta since June is generally available with ten tools and no setup beyond an API key.

Two parallel tracks. The first is meeting technicians in the tools they already have open — the Slack pop-up removes the need to remember argument order, which is the difference between a chat integration that gets used and one that gets abandoned. The second is Zia's data-centre expansion, where making a Zoho-hosted model available in Singapore is a data-residency play as much as an AI one: it lets customers with in-region requirements turn on Gen AI features at all.
Expect Zia availability to keep extending into further data centres, and expect the same pop-up treatment applied to the other chat surfaces once the Slack pattern settles.

The shape of the work has shifted from making Frill reachable by humans in more places to making its data readable by machines: SDK, multiple API keys, webhook hardening, then MCP. Frill is betting that the value of a feedback board is not the board but the corpus behind it, and that the corpus is most useful when a product manager can query it from wherever they already work. Bundling MCP into every plan rather than the Growth tier says they want adoption volume, not a pricing lever.
Expect the next release notes to extend MCP from read tools toward write actions — creating ideas or updating roadmap status from an assistant — and to surface usage of it in the admin dashboard.
