Agents move from demo to default: Rollbar, Tracecat and LobeChat act without being asked
The lead
Agents stopped being a feature to demo and became the thing products are built around. Rollbar now lets a new error trigger root-cause analysis and a fix pull request with no one starting it, and Tracecat 1.3 goes stable with agents that run two hours by default and accept steering mid-turn. LobeChat, the day's top-velocity product, turned Proactive Bot on by default, so bots now judge each message and decide whether to speak.
The second pattern is the other side of the same door. Of 169 products with fresh commentary, a large share exposed themselves to outside assistants rather than building their own, through MCP servers or agent protocols. The third, quieter one is security: several infrastructure projects shipped release notes that read as audits.
What moved
- Autonomy, with limits. GitLab took Orbit, its graph of code, pipelines and ownership, to GA on the argument that agent quality depends on lifecycle context. Algolia opened Agent Studio to external agents over A2A and added automated evaluations that score an agent before it ships.
- Bring your own assistant. AffiliateWP connects to Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor so owners can approve affiliates in chat. GetResponse, Tines (now able to create, update and delete records over MCP), Tana (your own Claude or ChatGPT joins a meeting), Postmark, PDFMonkey and Hunter.io did the same.
- Security as the release. Incus 7.6 carries 18 fixes, eight critical, including an authentication bypass via unverified client certificate chains. Elasticsearch shipped seven Elastic Cloud Enterprise advisories in one batch, three rated High, with isolation failures as the common thread. Nautobot and Rspamd read similarly.
- Vendor retreat. 3CX is retiring its own cloud transcription and pushing customers to bring their own AI, and Virto Commerce is removing its AngularJS admin UI from the core, leaving API-only without an admin module.
Sectors today
- Devtools / development: agent plumbing and hardening dominate, from Rollbar's automated fixes to Incus's security batch.
- Collaboration: Tana moves to the meeting itself, and Whimsical pitches Miro and Lucid users on pasting work in and continuing to edit.
- CRM: Wealthbox opens its AI Assistant to partners and adds Vault for the client file, while Weflow records calls without a bot and files them into Salesforce.
- Marketing automation: GetResponse adds MCP access and open-tracking consent for France and Italy; Customer.io replaces its API credentials with public and private keys.
- Customer support: Canny widens Autopilot to capture bugs, pricing and usability feedback, not only feature requests.
- Finance: Adapty retires its old paywall builder; Dwolla is buying its way to instant payouts.
- LMS / edtech: EducateMe puts an avatar on a video call with the learner in AI Roleplay.
Watch tomorrow
Tracecat followed 1.3.0 with 1.3.1 within a day, and Payload CMS ships v4 betas every few days, so expect more patch churn from both. Svelte shipped SvelteKit 3 without remote functions, its stated top priority, which makes the next release the one to read. Two feeds, Jobvite and Staffbase, produced commentary with no release notes behind it, so treat them as crawl-source noise until a product surface appears.
