AI-native workspace combining notes, tasks, and knowledge management with a flexible graph-based structure

Tana is rebuilding itself around meetings — capture, present, and AI wrap-up, all native

Current state
Tana, once a supertag-driven knowledge base, now spends nearly all its release energy on a meeting layer: a pre-meeting hub card, one-click capture of external Zoom/Teams/Meet calls through system audio, live document presentation, and AI agents that summarize and extract outcomes. The Today page has become the product's home surface, organizing the day around calls and their generated artifacts. Recent work is dense and iterative — join nudges, permission recovery, presentation palettes, voice agents — all pointed at the same target.
Where it's heading
The direction is unambiguous: Tana wants to own the full arc of a meeting — before (hub, invites, calendar sync), during (capture, present, live AI digest), and after (summaries, outcomes, review queue) — and fold the results back into its typed knowledge graph. External-meeting capture moving to on-by-default and live doc presentation without screen sharing put it in direct competition with Granola and Fellow, not just as a notes tool. The knowledge-base roots are increasingly the substrate that meeting outputs land in, not the headline.
Prediction
Expect the next releases to deepen the AI wrap-up loop — richer automatic outcome extraction, agent actions triggered from meeting content, and tighter linking of meeting artifacts into typed entities — since that is the recurring thread across these entries.

Start, schedule, or capture external meetings right from Today

Consolidates meeting start/schedule/capture into two Today action cards and lets the AI reason across a recurring meeting series. Incremental polish on the meeting-first surface that now anchors the product, plus a Markdown export path for summaries.

Never miss an upcoming Tana meeting

Extends the always-on-top pre-meeting card to internal Tana calls with a Join button, adds invite-to-org from the attendee list, and makes the voice agent answer recent-conversation questions without stalling. Reliability and reach improvements to the meeting flow rather than a new capability.

Present and capture, in one click

Adds a Present palette that puts screen shares, blank or pinned docs, and canvases onto the meeting stage from one control, plus convert-to-capture on native calls and pre-flight permission checks. Strengthens the in-call surface built out in the pre-meeting hub release.

    A pre-meeting hub

    ⚡ SPARK

The anchor release of Tana's meeting pivot: a single pre-meeting hub card, live document and canvas presentation without screen sharing, an in-meeting AI-jobs monitor, and external-meeting capture on by default. This is where a knowledge-base tool became a meeting-native workspace.

A voice for your meeting agents

Adds an org-level voice picker for meeting agents and hardens external-meeting handling — persistent details cards, resume capture, duplicate-recording guards, and calendar sync-error recovery. Quality and control work layered onto the maturing meeting stack.
