CircleCI meters test intelligence and Copilot adds Gemini 4 Argon with admin controls
The lead
Capability shipped yesterday with a meter or a policy control attached. CircleCI made Smarter Testing generally available and now bills test impact analysis, dynamic splitting and auto-rerun per test atom evaluated, while basic running and static splitting stay free.
GitHub and GitHub Copilot paired the Gemini 4 Argon GA with forced refresh of managed settings, minimum client versions and prompt-free usage attribution. The model was the headline; the admin controls were most of the release notes.
What moved
- Agents get an entry point. NocoBase's newest beta runs sessions on a person's own machine through Codex, Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Copilot and Cursor. Zoho Cliq published MCP tools for its developer platform, Formbricks added a v3 responses API with MCP read and write scopes, and Formidable Forms moved MCP support into each add-on.
- Usage gets metered. Teable added a scraping catalog for agents billed at each source's actual cost with reserved credits, and removed Base-level read-only Postgres credentials.
- Guardrails around agents. n8n 2.44 extends node-type rules to agent tools, Infisical routes secret change requests through its global approval system, Baseten added egress allow lists and rolling deployments by default, and Close added OIDC single sign-on.
- Assistants reach the config screens. Shopify put Sidekick inside the checkout and customer-accounts editor, still guidance-only.
- Editing safety. Wiki.js 3.0 beta stores unsaved edits in the browser with a restore prompt and fixes git sync on multi-replica installs.

Watch tomorrow
NocoBase has published dated betas several times a day, so expect more hardening of its agent sessions. Copilot's pattern of same-week GA for new frontier models, plus the admin controls that follow, is worth tracking against GitHub's audit-log and policy releases. Separately, several feeds keep shipping without notes: Hyperswitch, Kubecost and Firefly III each posted builds with no changelog, so any real change there will surface late.
