What is Xurrent?

Xurrent turns Sera AI from a chat widget into shipping ITSM agents

Xurrent ships a disciplined monthly-cadence ITSM changelog, and the arc is unmistakably agentic: Sera AI has moved from a configurable chat widget and a Studio for tuning it, to actual autonomous agents with success metrics and an Agent Designer. Around that AI core the team keeps grinding classic ITSM surface — CMDB reconciliation, shared tags across Requests/Problems/Workflows/Projects, self-service reservations, iPaaS connectors, and MCP directory support.

What is Respond.io?

Respond.io is turning its AI Agents into the default responder and loosening the phone number as identity.

The AI Agent is where most of the product work is landing. It can now hold a reply until a Contact finishes typing across several messages (1 second to 5 minutes, timer resetting on each new message), send files and images as rendered attachments rather than links, and recognize when it has been assigned a conversation or when a closed one is reopened. The Voice AI Agent got a latency and reasoning pass aimed at callers dropping off mid-lookup. Around that, channel work continues: WhatsApp carousel templates, Instagram Story mentions as a conversation trigger, and BSUID support for Contacts with no phone number.

Xurrent turns Sera AI from a chat widget into shipping ITSM agents

◆ Current state

Xurrent ships a disciplined monthly-cadence ITSM changelog, and the arc is unmistakably agentic: Sera AI has moved from a configurable chat widget and a Studio for tuning it, to actual autonomous agents with success metrics and an Agent Designer. Around that AI core the team keeps grinding classic ITSM surface — CMDB reconciliation, shared tags across Requests/Problems/Workflows/Projects, self-service reservations, iPaaS connectors, and MCP directory support.

◆ Where it's heading

The direction is a service-desk platform where AI agents are first-class operators, not a bolt-on bot. Each month adds coaching, measurement, and governance scaffolding (Golden Set testing, readiness checks, success metrics) around the agents — the pattern of a vendor productionizing agentic support rather than demoing it.

◆ Prediction

Expect Sera AI's agent roster to expand beyond the first two, with more Agent Designer metrics and autonomous-resolution reporting; the ITSM plumbing (tags, CMDB, connectors) will keep advancing in lockstep to feed those agents clean data.

Respond.io is turning its AI Agents into the default responder and loosening the phone number as identity.

◆ Current state

The AI Agent is where most of the product work is landing. It can now hold a reply until a Contact finishes typing across several messages (1 second to 5 minutes, timer resetting on each new message), send files and images as rendered attachments rather than links, and recognize when it has been assigned a conversation or when a closed one is reopened. The Voice AI Agent got a latency and reasoning pass aimed at callers dropping off mid-lookup. Around that, channel work continues: WhatsApp carousel templates, Instagram Story mentions as a conversation trigger, and BSUID support for Contacts with no phone number.

◆ Where it's heading

Two threads are converging. The AI Agent is being fitted with the behaviors a human agent has — waiting for someone to finish, handing off, picking up a reopened thread, attaching a file — which is the work of making it the first responder rather than a deflection layer. Meanwhile the contact model is being decoupled from the phone number, with BSUIDs flowing through webhooks and the Developer API so integrations can map Contacts that never share one. Channel additions are increasingly scored as automation surfaces: Story mentions and Growth Widgets both ship with new Workflow trigger variables rather than as inbox features alone.

◆ Prediction

Expect the wait-time and assignment awareness to be followed by more human-like handoff controls between AI Agents and human agents, and BSUID-only Contacts to force more of the identity and merge tooling that phone-number matching used to handle implicitly.
