Xurrent
Xurrent follows its six-agent September with tools to steer and measure Sera AI.
A side-by-side editorial comparison of Twilio and Zoho Cliq — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
Twilio is rebuilding its media stack so AI runs server-side, not in a browser.
Twilio's last two weeks cluster around transcription and conversation data: batch transcription configs went GA, real-time transcription gains provider failover on October 22, and Conversations added on-demand rule execution and metadata. Alongside that come housekeeping moves — Content API rate limits, a Conference list default change, a discontinued Verify event type.
Zoho Cliq is unbundling its licensing while spreading chat across every Zoho surface.
Cliq 7.0 shipped in August with AI summarisation, a developer platform refresh, and Cliq Mini embedded across Zoho apps. September added guest-user rework, Cliq Rooms on Neat hardware, and per-role subscription plans.

The direction is a pipeline in which voice and video media flows into Twilio-managed transcription, intelligence and orchestration layers that customers configure rather than code. The Node.js Video Media SDK extends that pipeline to video by letting server processes join rooms as participants. Expect the platform to keep pulling AI processing steps closer to the media and away from client apps.
The Video Media SDK is likely to gain native hooks into Conversation Intelligence or the transcription configs, so video rooms feed the same orchestration layer that voice already does.

Cliq is moving from a standalone chat app to the communication layer of the Zoho suite, extending into meeting-room hardware and external collaboration. Role-based plans suggest Zoho wants to land wider seat counts at lower average cost.
Expect further role-specific bundles and more Cliq surfaces inside Zoho apps; the entries don't show whether AI features will be priced separately.
