The lead

Five products shipped a removal as the headline change today, and what separates them is whether the user got to pick the date. Apache SkyWalking 11.0 cut the bundled UI out of the OAP release and handed it to a separate project. Element Call deleted MatrixRTC legacy single-SFU mode outright, two months after making multi-SFU the default and leaving the old path reachable from developer settings. Kubernetes v1.37 graduated metrics.k8s.io to v1 after nine years at beta, unchanged. All three are the disciplined version: announce, leave a window, then delete.

Wincher is the other kind. Its rank tracker now returns results only to position 30, and the cut was applied retroactively — historical rankings past 30 disappear from reports, graphs and exports. That reaches backwards into data customers already collected. What moved

  • Removals that bought something. SkyWalking's split lets the backend release on its own cadence, but leaves no 1:1 version mapping for operators. Incus 7.4 ran the same discipline forward, turning a year of migration plumbing into near-live migration that moves dependent disks inside a cluster.
  • Assistants stopped waiting to be asked. Teamtailor's Co-pilot now chases missing candidate information itself and writes replies back to the profile — shipped with injection detection and an explicit promise that no candidate is auto-rejected. Scoro moved its ELI assistant onto automatic triggers; SpotOn put a voice agent on the restaurant phone line nobody answers.
  • More control planes became callable. Render shipped an MCP server that deploys and a CLI agents can drive; Hoppscotch merged REST and GraphQL into one workspace with an MCP server; Hex pulled its agent out of the notebook; Nifty widened its MCP server past tasks into files and concurrent edits. v0 wired generated apps into Vercel AI Gateway so they call models with no key handed over.
  • Write access kept spreading. ShipHero's AI Toolkit went read-only in June, schema-driven in July, and write in August — agents can now change the warehouse, not just report on it.
  • The money layer. Rize added profitability, resourcing and invoicing on top of tracked time, landing them in the API and MCP the same day. Tanda began disbursing payroll itself over the NPP instead of handing it to the bank, and ComfyUI became a reseller of MiniMax H3 commercial licences.

Sectors today

  • Devtools (25 products) carried the day: Prowler added Slack alert routing, Mergify tightened stacked-PR merging.
  • Development: HashiCorp argued provenance is the moat and shipped native SLSA attestation in Packer v1.16.0; OpenTofu's v1.13 beta put user-defined functions into the language.
  • Project management: Atlassian pushed Rovo into Microsoft Teams and Copilot rather than pulling users back; SmartSuite's automations gained branching.
  • Analytics: besides SkyWalking, Neo4j made graph analytics free, and OpenCTI's assistant began executing approved tools.
  • Collaboration: Immich rebuilt its release process then landed search and workflows; LibrePhotos added SSO and OCR search.
  • AI assistants: AutoGPT repackaged its platform as staff you hire and pay; HeyGen moved from templates to generated scenes.
  • Ecommerce: Easyship stopped collecting compliance data and started filing it at the border.
  • Design: Webflow stepped outside its own canvas into Codex; Anima's centre of gravity left the Figma plugin.
  • Finance: Zluri moved from routing access requests to advising on them; Moov kept closing the API-to-dashboard gap.
  • Communication and messaging, customer support, HR, marketing, marketing automation, video conferencing and CRM moved on smaller increments; Twilio's absorption of certificates and consent state is the one worth reading.
  • LMS/edtech was the quiet sector: only Code.org shipped product work; the rest of the feeds are marketing.

Watch tomorrow

SkyWalking acknowledged there is no 1:1 mapping between OAP and the split-out UI, so a compatibility matrix is the obvious next publication. Rocket.Chat's 9.0 will be defined by the LDAP and SAML licence change, not by any calling feature. Wincher has gone quiet since the depth cut and still hasn't said what replaces deep-ranking data. Prowler's Lighthouse arc has paused where the assistant decides things — this release only asks whether its answers were any good, which is how you collect the data to improve one. One data note: Litmus's dated feed is a deliverability blog while its actual release archive sits undated in a separate scrape, so recency there is unreadable.
