Nifty is widening its MCP server from task access into files, docs, and safe concurrent edits.

◆Current state
Nifty's August digest is dominated by MCP expansion one month after the server shipped. Assistants can now upload a file from a path or URL, create and file Docs with visibility control, and attach or detach them from tasks; large document reads dropped from minutes to roughly a second, and a conflict check stops an assistant overwriting a teammate's later edit. Reporting also gained funnel charts, percentage number widgets, and a large speedup on twelve-month reports.
◆Where it's heading
The MCP server is clearly Nifty's main investment, and the August work is about making it fast and safe enough for real use rather than extending what it can reach. The concurrency guard is the notable detail: it treats an assistant as one writer among several, which is the problem every multi-agent workspace eventually hits. Distribution through the Microsoft 365 Copilot admin center aims the same capability at buyers who would never configure an MCP client themselves.
◆Prediction
Expect the MCP surface to keep absorbing the remaining object types and Nifty to lean harder on admin-center distribution, with reporting performance work continuing behind it.
