ShipHero is pulling the warehouse desktop apart one function at a time.

◆Current state
The mobile app keeps absorbing work that used to require a desktop workstation. Receivers can now count by the case and receive as eaches with the conversion done automatically, over-receiving is flagged with a badge and a confirmation at the destination scan, and as of this week a Zebra printer connects directly over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth so barcodes print from the device. Administration is tightening in parallel: API and data-export access is now granted per user, automation rules can be managed across all client accounts with bulk actions, and the public API added webhook delivery logs and third-party billing on order creation.
◆Where it's heading
The direction is stated outright in the printing release — the desktop is being designed out of the warehouse floor, with in-app shipping label and report printing named as what comes next. Underneath that, the 3PL story is getting stronger: cross-client rule management, per-user API permissions and developer-user controls are all features a warehouse operating on behalf of many brands needs and a single-brand shipper does not. The API work follows the same shape, giving integrators the delivery visibility and billing fields that multi-party shipping arrangements require.
◆Prediction
Direct in-app printing of shipping labels and reports is the next release the changelog itself points at. Expect the per-user permission model to keep extending, since API access and data export were split apart rather than bundled.

    The July API roundup adds a webhooks_call_logs query returning paginated delivery history with timestamps, target URLs and status codes, so failed deliveries can be diagnosed without a support ticket. Order creation also accepts a third_party_shipper field for billing shipping charges to another account.

    Mobile inbound receiving can count pallets by the case while receiving into the each SKU, doing the multiplication automatically. It removes a manual conversion step for warehouses that receive in cases but track in units, and is available on request rather than by default.
