HelpCenter.io
HelpCenter.io is building a funnel off Zendesk's weak spots — a free FAQ tool at one end, migration guides at the other.
A side-by-side editorial comparison of Twilio and Zoho Mail — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
Twilio is retiring Functions Classic and migrating every account onto the new runtime itself
The window is dominated by platform maintenance with hard dates attached: a TLS certificate rotation on September 9, new registration error codes on September 15, a regional Event Streams IP in US East, and now the retirement of Functions Classic. Alongside these, the product work is compliance and deliverability — programmatic re-opt-in on toll-free numbers via the Consent Management API, and dedicated IPs with automated warm-up for Twilio Email. Nothing here is a new product line; it is the existing surface being tidied and made more governable.
Zoho folds its transactional email product into the mailbox and hands out free credits
The feed mixes real product changes with governance thought-leadership, and this window has one of each: ZeptoMail, Zoho's transactional email service, is now presented as part of Zoho Mail and Workplace with starter credits, following Web Tabs pinning arbitrary websites inside the mail client. The rest is positioning — a phishing narrative used to walk through the rules engine, an admin console overview, and Microsoft's EWS retirement written up as a migration prompt. Email journaling remains the substantive enterprise capability in the set.

Twilio is converging its legacy and modern surfaces onto one platform and absorbing the migration cost rather than pushing it to customers. The pattern repeats across the entries: retire the old thing, migrate accounts automatically, give integrators a dated notice and clearer errors. The differentiated work is increasingly in carrier and compliance plumbing — consent state, branded calling, registration feedback — which is the part competitors cannot replicate with software alone.
September is shaping up as a cutover month, with the certificate rotation, the new error codes, and the Functions Classic create-block all landing within a week of each other. Expect further dated retirements of older Twilio surfaces on the same automatic-migration pattern, though the entries give no indication which product is next.

Zoho keeps widening what the mailbox contains rather than improving mail itself. Web Tabs pulled other applications into the window; ZeptoMail pulls the machine-generated side of email — password resets, OTPs, order confirmations — under the same roof as human correspondence. The direction is a single console covering both what staff send and what applications send, with the enterprise controls (rules, journaling, admin reporting) as the procurement argument.
Expect the two mail paths to converge in tooling — shared domain and deliverability configuration, unified reporting across human and transactional sending. The free credits read as a conversion mechanism, though the entries say nothing about pricing once they run out.
