What is Boords?

Boords now owns the script, not just the frames it turns into.

Boords is an AI storyboarding tool that has spent 2026 extending in both directions from the frame. Upstream it now holds the script itself, with review links, line-anchored client comments and a recorded approval; downstream it handles reframing, aspect-ratio changes and revision history on generated images. Around that core it has built the workspace furniture a team needs to actually run on it: presence avatars, an activity log, project multi-select, archive cleanup and Slack notifications. The August release is the clearest statement of the direction so far.

What is Oxygen?

Oxygen 6.2 ships AI agent control of the page builder — the same move Breakdance 3.0 made.

Oxygen 6.2 is the AI agent integration release: an AI agent can create and edit pages, templates, headers, footers, Components, selectors, CSS variables, dynamic data, interactions, and animations — the full builder surface. The version has been iterating through betas since July, fixing MCP server issues and adding localization (UI now translatable into non-English). The stable 6.2 GA released July 20; the current betas (Beta 4–7) are pre-release work toward a potential 6.2 point release.

Boords
DESIGN
6.3

Boords now owns the script, not just the frames it turns into.

◆ Current state

Boords is an AI storyboarding tool that has spent 2026 extending in both directions from the frame. Upstream it now holds the script itself, with review links, line-anchored client comments and a recorded approval; downstream it handles reframing, aspect-ratio changes and revision history on generated images. Around that core it has built the workspace furniture a team needs to actually run on it: presence avatars, an activity log, project multi-select, archive cleanup and Slack notifications. The August release is the clearest statement of the direction so far.

◆ Where it's heading

The product is turning from an editor into a pre-production pipeline, and the ordering of releases shows it: capabilities land first, then the collaboration surface around them, then the free-tier reach. Scripts arriving on every plan and the Activity Log opening to free teams both point at adoption breadth rather than upsell. The remaining seam is between the approved script and the generated frames, where Boords currently reads the script once to build a storyboard rather than keeping the two in sync.

◆ Prediction

Expect the script-to-storyboard link to become a living one — re-syncing frames when the script changes after the first generation — since the entries already treat approval status and revisions as tracked state rather than one-time events.

O
Oxygen
DESIGN
5.0

Oxygen 6.2 ships AI agent control of the page builder — the same move Breakdance 3.0 made.

◆ Current state

Oxygen 6.2 is the AI agent integration release: an AI agent can create and edit pages, templates, headers, footers, Components, selectors, CSS variables, dynamic data, interactions, and animations — the full builder surface. The version has been iterating through betas since July, fixing MCP server issues and adding localization (UI now translatable into non-English). The stable 6.2 GA released July 20; the current betas (Beta 4–7) are pre-release work toward a potential 6.2 point release.

◆ Where it's heading

Oxygen and Breakdance both shipped AI agent control of their builders within days of each other — Oxygen GA'd 6.2 on July 20, Breakdance announced 3.0 on July 20. The simultaneous move signals market convergence rather than a single breakout. Oxygen's localization addition in Beta 3 is a distinct direction: making the builder available in languages other than English opens a new addressable market for a tool with a strong developer reputation.

◆ Prediction

The betas will reach a stable point release (6.2.x) within a few weeks, followed by deeper AI agent capability — more granular component control or the ability to reference external design systems.
