◆Current state
Octopus.do added official ChatGPT and Claude apps in August, backed by an MCP server and a public REST API — any AI agent can now create or modify a sitemap inside a user's account. September built on this with workspace-level additions: a shared symbol library (edit once, update across all projects, Team plan only) and Google Analytics data overlaid on the sitemap to show page performance alongside structure. The template system also shipped, letting teams start new projects from saved project states with crawl-based content import.
◆Where it's heading
Two parallel growth axes are in motion: the AI-native interface (MCP server, ChatGPT/Claude apps, XML import prompt) is making Octopus agent-driveable for automated site planning; the team collaboration tools (shared symbols, copywriter role, templates) are making it stickier for agencies and in-house UX teams. The Figma high-fidelity prototype plugin, shipped in May, connects both by delivering the agent-or-human-authored sitemap into design handoff.
◆Prediction
Crawl-to-sitemap via AI agent is the natural next feature — the crawl capability exists and the agent interface is live, combining them would let users point the agent at a URL and get a sitemap back. The REST API may also enable CMS or CRM integrations that auto-update the sitemap as the site structure changes.
