◆Current state
Recraft shipped a compressed burst of major updates through August and September 2026. The Studio interface was completely redesigned with Create and Chat (agentic) tabs, in-place editing, and batch generation up to 8 images with side-by-side model comparison. V4.1 Flash delivers 1.3-second image generation. Third-party models — ChatGPT Images 2.5 for image generation and Seedance 2.5 for video up to 30 seconds — are now integrated alongside Recraft's own V4.1.
◆Where it's heading
Recraft is building a multi-model AI design platform: its own fast models for speed-sensitive workflows, third-party integrations for specialized output types (video, ChatGPT-native), and an agentic mode for multi-step design tasks. The Design Agent (which generates full brand identity kits — logo, palette, typography, icons — from a single prompt) is in open testing and signals ambition to own the brand identity workflow, not just image generation.
◆Prediction
Design Agent progresses from beta to GA, expanding to more brand asset types. The Chat agentic mode gets richer workflow primitives. Additional third-party model integrations are likely given the ChatGPT Images and Seedance additions — video models are the obvious next frontier given Seedance is already there.
