Pencil2D's 0.7.1 candidates are mostly about not losing the user's work
Two release candidates for 0.7.1, twenty months apart, plus the earlier 0.7.0 candidate. The substantive changes are data-integrity fixes — a ClipboardManager memory leak, frame data loss when copying bitmap keyframes, project recovery dialog improvements, backups on polyline completion — alongside macOS codesigning and notarization and a reworked toolbox layout that reflows into rows or a single column.
Webflow now writes for the AI crawlers it taught you to measure.
Webflow is shipping on two tracks at once. The visual-builder track keeps maturing — Component Slots that accept real elements, fonts traveling with Libraries, GSAP-backed mouse interactions, live multiplayer on Page Branching. The other track is agent-native: MCP 2.0, a Slack surface, a ChatGPT app, and AEO analytics that now measure brand mentions across ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini.

For a hand-drawn animation tool the recurring subject is protecting in-progress work, and that is where these candidates spend their effort. The platform work sits alongside it: signed and notarized macOS builds and an updated Qt6 runner are the cost of shipping a desktop app users can install without warnings.
A general 0.7.1 release is the natural next step once the candidate cycle settles, though the twenty-month gap between candidates makes timing hard to call.

The AEO line is where Webflow is putting its weight, and it has moved from measurement to action within a month — first showing what AI says about a brand, now generating the content meant to change it. Meanwhile the builder is being repositioned as something agents operate rather than something only humans click, with MCP, Slack, and ChatGPT all acting as entry points into the same site. The classic designer features keep landing, but they increasingly read as substrate for the agent layer.
Expect the AEO agents to fold into the existing AEO analytics loop — measure citations, generate content, re-measure — and for more of that loop to become reachable from the MCP, Slack, and ChatGPT surfaces without opening the Designer.

darktable keeps its solstice release rhythm, but the feed publishes checksums instead of features
Storybook's 10.6 alphas are mostly framework plumbing, with TanStack support taking the most attention
Picsart's blog doubles as a model catalog: whatever video model is hot, it's already inside.
Boords turned its AI frames into shots you can re-block, then wrapped them in review and revision plumbing
Every Mediamodifier entry is one new mockup template, so the feed measures catalog output
