Before them came a supporter preview of the rewritten v2 self-hosting CLI and a fix that keeps saved reports' filters and cohort ids.

Evidence's last release was a February CVE sweep that also removed Evidence Cloud references.

◆ Current state

Every tracked Evidence release is from a single day, February 6, 2026: a coordinated patch across the SDK, preprocessor, universal SQL layer and database connectors to pick up dependency updates for CVEs. The SDK patch also removes references to Evidence Cloud.

◆ Where it's heading

Nothing has shipped in the eight months since, so the open-source BI-as-code framework looks to be in maintenance mode. Removing Evidence Cloud references suggests the hosted offering has been dropped or separated, though the entries do not say why.

◆ Prediction

It is unclear from the entries whether active development will resume; the next release is more likely another dependency or security patch than new features.

5.0

OpenPanel's 3.x line hits six builds in 36 hours, still without release notes.

◆ Current state

OpenPanel's self-hosted line went from 3.0.0 on October 16 to 3.3.1 on October 18: six builds of main in roughly a day and a half. Each ships to supporters through openpanel upgrade --supporter, with public releases published from the self-hosting tag. None of them carries release notes. Before them came a supporter preview of the rewritten v2 self-hosting CLI and a fix that keeps saved reports' filters and cohort ids.

◆ Where it's heading

OpenPanel now ships continuously on the self-hosted path, using the rewritten CLI's upgrade command as the delivery channel and paying supporters as the early ring. Version numbers are moving faster than any documented change, so the bumps describe the release process more than the product. What 3.x changes for analytics users remains undocumented.

◆ Prediction

Expect more notes-free builds of main and an eventual public 3.x release through the self-hosting tag. Without notes, it's unclear whether 3.x adds analytics features or mostly reworks self-hosting infrastructure.
