What is Evidence?

Evidence's last release was a February CVE sweep that also removed Evidence Cloud references.

Every tracked Evidence release is from a single day, February 6, 2026: a coordinated patch across the SDK, preprocessor, universal SQL layer and database connectors to pick up dependency updates for CVEs. The SDK patch also removes references to Evidence Cloud.

What is OpenHouse?

OpenHouse starts simplifying replication by making its catalog, not Iceberg metadata, the source.

OpenHouse is LinkedIn's open-source control plane for Iceberg tables and tags a release per merged PR. v0.5.526 is the first phase of a replication simplification design: fields already stored in the OpenHouse catalog are no longer copied into Iceberg table properties, so clients that read them from metadata must switch to OpenHouse APIs. v0.5.525 bin-packs maintenance jobs by database and account, and v0.5.522 added a commit-only engine as the first milestone of Iceberg views.

0.0

Evidence's last release was a February CVE sweep that also removed Evidence Cloud references.

◆ Current state

Every tracked Evidence release is from a single day, February 6, 2026: a coordinated patch across the SDK, preprocessor, universal SQL layer and database connectors to pick up dependency updates for CVEs. The SDK patch also removes references to Evidence Cloud.

◆ Where it's heading

Nothing has shipped in the eight months since, so the open-source BI-as-code framework looks to be in maintenance mode. Removing Evidence Cloud references suggests the hosted offering has been dropped or separated, though the entries do not say why.

◆ Prediction

It is unclear from the entries whether active development will resume; the next release is more likely another dependency or security patch than new features.

5.0

OpenHouse starts simplifying replication by making its catalog, not Iceberg metadata, the source.

◆ Current state

OpenHouse is LinkedIn's open-source control plane for Iceberg tables and tags a release per merged PR. v0.5.526 is the first phase of a replication simplification design: fields already stored in the OpenHouse catalog are no longer copied into Iceberg table properties, so clients that read them from metadata must switch to OpenHouse APIs. v0.5.525 bin-packs maintenance jobs by database and account, and v0.5.522 added a commit-only engine as the first milestone of Iceberg views.

◆ Where it's heading

The catalog is being made the single source of truth: replication sheds duplicated metadata, and access is routed through OpenHouse APIs. Alongside it, views are being built in stages as a second object type, and the jobs and optimizer stack keeps getting better scheduling, testing and observability.

◆ Prediction

Expect further phases of the replication simplification that remove more duplicated properties, and the next views milestone that adds load, list and drop. The entries don't say when either reaches clients.
