Snowplow
Snowplow's tracked releases are loader and tracker version bumps with no notes.
A side-by-side editorial comparison of Basedash and OpenPanel — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
Basedash's AI analyst now takes questions in Slack DMs, too.
Basedash has become a chat-first BI tool: the assistant builds whole dashboards, writes artifacts through MCP, and runs on GPT-6.1 Sol by default. Basedash Mobile added a Home Screen app with voice questions, and users can now message Basedash one-on-one in Slack instead of mentioning the bot in a channel. Domain-based team joining and a semantic Models layer make the answers more consistent and easier to roll out.
OpenPanel's tracked releases are maintenance: a saved-report fix and a CI Node bump.
The three tracked OpenPanel releases carry no new analytics features. The most recent fixes saved reports so they keep their filter type and cohort ids when reloaded. The other two tags publish the same commit, which moves CI to Node 22.20.0 to match the runtime Docker images after undici 8 broke two test suites on Node 20.

Every recent release moves the entry point away from the dashboard editor: into chat, into external agents via MCP, onto the phone and now into private Slack messages. The Models layer and AI Sources are the trust scaffolding that makes those answers credible. Basedash is heading toward an AI analyst people query from wherever they already work.
With phone, voice and Slack DMs in place, scheduled or proactive answers pushed to those surfaces are the logical next step, building on the earlier Tasks and daily-insights work.

The visible work is about keeping the self-hosted build and the hosted product in step: CI now runs the same Node version as the shipped images, and saved-report state is being made reliable. Three entries are too thin a record to show where the feature roadmap is going.
The entries don't show a feature direction, so the next move is unclear; more self-hosting and report-persistence fixes are the only pattern visible so far.
