What is Anima?

Anima's centre of gravity moved from the Figma plugin to a Playground that accepts anything.

Anima converts designs into front-end code. Through 2024 the work sat inside the Figma plugin and the Frontier tool — Shadcn, MUI and AntD output targets, monorepo support, image export overrides, code cleanup that strips unnecessary markup. In March 2025 it launched an AI Playground that takes a Figma link and produces a live app, and development has centred there since: full multi-screen Figma flows with breakpoints imported in one click, cloning of any live website into React or HTML, and publishing a Playground to one or several custom domains.

What is Oxygen?

Oxygen patches a Design Library access-control hole as the 6.2 beta reaches its seventh build.

Oxygen's headline 6.2 work — an AI agent that builds using the builder's full vocabulary — was announced in July, and the seven betas since have been stabilization rather than new capability. Beta 3 was the exception, adding interface translation so the builder is no longer English-only. The stable 6.1 branch meanwhile took a security fix, 6.1.2, closing an access-control issue in three Design Library import endpoints that fetch a URL server-side and store the response as the site's imported design data.

Anima's centre of gravity moved from the Figma plugin to a Playground that accepts anything.

◆ Current state

Anima converts designs into front-end code. Through 2024 the work sat inside the Figma plugin and the Frontier tool — Shadcn, MUI and AntD output targets, monorepo support, image export overrides, code cleanup that strips unnecessary markup. In March 2025 it launched an AI Playground that takes a Figma link and produces a live app, and development has centred there since: full multi-screen Figma flows with breakpoints imported in one click, cloning of any live website into React or HTML, and publishing a Playground to one or several custom domains.

◆ Where it's heading

The plugin work was about fidelity — how faithfully a design becomes clean, framework-appropriate code. The Playground is about ownership of the whole loop: import, iterate by prompt, publish on your own domain. The most telling change is what it will accept. Starting from a Figma link was the founding constraint of the company; taking any live website as a starting point means the input is now whatever the user has, and Figma is one source among several.

◆ Prediction

With publishing to custom domains in place, the Playground now covers import through hosting, which leaves collaboration as the visible gap — expect shared or team-level Playgrounds rather than more import sources.

Oxygen patches a Design Library access-control hole as the 6.2 beta reaches its seventh build.

◆ Current state

Oxygen's headline 6.2 work — an AI agent that builds using the builder's full vocabulary — was announced in July, and the seven betas since have been stabilization rather than new capability. Beta 3 was the exception, adding interface translation so the builder is no longer English-only. The stable 6.1 branch meanwhile took a security fix, 6.1.2, closing an access-control issue in three Design Library import endpoints that fetch a URL server-side and store the response as the site's imported design data.

◆ Where it's heading

The beta cadence is tight and repetitive: Betas 4, 5 and 6 carry near-identical notes covering builder, Gutenberg and MCP server bugfixes, and Beta 7 simply forwards the 6.1.2 security fix onto the beta branch. That pattern reads as a release converging rather than one still growing. The security work also marks the Design Library import path, a server-side fetcher, as the area currently drawing scrutiny.

◆ Prediction

A 6.2 release candidate or stable build is the likely next step, since the betas have stopped adding capability and are now only clearing bugs. Whether further Design Library hardening follows is not something these entries settle.
