Fibery and NocoBase let AI assemble the workspace while SmartSuite and Tracecat add controls

The week in project-management

Project tools are being rebuilt around agents that do the building. Fibery previewed AI that takes any HTTP API description and builds, tests and hosts the connector, after earlier releases let AI generate entity pages as Custom Apps. NocoBase is running coding agents from users' own machines through an agent client protocol bridge. In both, the human describes the outcome and the platform assembles it.

The counterweight is control. NocoBase's latest beta lets owners withdraw queued agent messages, SmartSuite added Managed Secrets with an audit trail and a Recycle Bin for deleted teams, and Fibery hid Space data from Admins. Autonomy and governance are shipping in the same releases.

Leaders

NocoBase added acp-bridge, which registers a person's macOS, Linux or Windows machine with the coding agents installed on it, including Codex, Claude Code and Cursor. A later beta replaced the agent-session MCP endpoint with the Studio CLI and a shared Skill, then added owner control over queued messages. The cost is a protocol bump.

Fibery previewed AI-built custom integrations with OAuth and webhooks, added rich-text change history in the inbox, and gave its MCP server the ability to execute code. Three sparks in recent releases put AI at the center of how the workspace is configured.

Tracecat took its 1.2 line from alpha to stable in under two days, shipping sub-cases, case search by UUID or short ID, workflow forms and on-prem tunnels. Agent approvals and the inbox were opened up in earlier 1.1 alphas.

SmartSuite brought pivot table widgets to mobile dashboards with matching totals, moved secrets out of the Script Engine onto an admin page where every reveal is recorded, and taught dashboard filters to exclude.

Wildcards

RentRedi is a property management product, but its Maintenance Coordination now answers tenant calls, troubleshoots and dispatches to a landlord's own vendors first. It is applied AI in a domain far from software teams.

Productboard made EntityType an open, workspace-specific string in its v2 API, a breaking change, and added exact-match text filters this week.

Themes that compounded

  • Agents running in or beside the workspace: NocoBase and Fibery.
  • MCP servers gaining capability: Fibery's code execution, and a hosted MCP server at SmartSuite.
  • Governance packaged with automation: Managed Secrets, owner withdrawal, hidden Space data.
  • Commercial layers on scheduling: Float is adding rate cards and AI experience profiles to staff on experience.

Watch this week

Watch NocoBase's dated betas for further protocol changes, since the last bump broke compatibility, and Fibery's integration preview for a general release. Tracecat's 1.2 line is also worth watching for a quick follow-up patch.
