An editing app is quietly turning into a creator-payout marketplace.
A side-by-side editorial comparison of Xtensio and shadcn/ui — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
Xtensio's feed is stale 2023 product-management explainers with no recent activity.
The crawled entries are evergreen guides from 2023 and 2024: Scrum roles, Agile versus Waterfall, and PM glossaries. Xtensio is a collaborative document and template tool, but this feed shows no recent publishing and no product changes; the newest item is roughly two years old.
shadcn/ui is becoming a base-agnostic distribution layer rather than a Radix wrapper.
Two things are happening at once. The component layer has been decoupled from any single primitive vendor: Base UI became the default for new projects in July with Radix still supported, React Aria joined as a third selectable base two weeks later, and new components like Toast now ship on Base UI. Meanwhile the registry has stopped being a static file list — any public GitHub repository can act as a registry, and search now runs server-side.

There is no current trajectory visible, the feed is dormant. Either Xtensio stopped publishing here or the crawler is pointed at an archived content section.
Nothing in the feed supports a confident prediction; the crawl source likely needs to be re-pointed at an active channel.

The project is separating what it distributes from what it is built on. If the primitive is a choice rather than a dependency, shadcn/ui's value moves to the distribution layer — the registry, the CLI, and the conventions — which is exactly where the recent work lands. A third track is accumulating around AI surfaces: chat interface components in June, then @shadcn/helpers wrapping AI SDK and TanStack AI.
Expect the remaining components to be ported onto Base UI and the registry to gain more discovery on top of server-side search, since indexing is the piece that makes third-party registries findable.
