Rivet has shipped three substantive capability moves in rapid succession: BYOC (Bring Your Own Cloud, letting enterprises run Rivet's control plane inside their own AWS or GCP VPCs), MCP integration (exposing Rivet Actors as a first-class tool in Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and Gemini CLI), and Dynamic Apps (a V8-isolate-based runtime for deploying AI-generated applications for end users). Underneath all of this is the Actors model — a durable, stateful compute primitive built on open-source infrastructure. Sanity is running two parallel tracks simultaneously: Studio (v6.14.x) is receiving rapid bug-fix releases targeting real-world pain — Portable Text data-loss risks, appearance theming inconsistencies, popover UX regressions. At the same time, the MCP server is iterating weekly from v2.31 to v2.33, adding revision guards for safer publishing, distributed-tracing auth fixes, and token-efficient query responses. The BYOC move unlocks regulated industries and large enterprises who can't send data to a SaaS control plane. MCP turns Rivet's Actors into something any AI client can discover and call without bespoke integration. Dynamic Apps makes Rivet the runtime, not just the infrastructure, for user-generated software. The through-line is that Rivet wants every AI agent — whether built by a developer or generated at runtime — to run on the Actors primitive with Rivet managing the lifecycle.
BYOC on AWS/GCP is the foundation; Azure support and SOC 2 certification are the logical next steps to close enterprise deals. Expect MCP to expand to more clients (OpenAI Codex, Copilot, Windsurf) as the MCP ecosystem grows, and Dynamic Apps to get versioning and rollback — the missing piece for user-facing production deployments.

Sanity is building the MCP server into a production-grade write interface for AI agents. The `ifRevisionId` guard in v2.33 — which causes publishing to fail if a draft changed since the caller read it — is the kind of concurrency safety needed before AI agents can reliably edit live content. Studio stability work is catching up after a period of fast feature shipping. Expect MCP tool coverage to broaden and the auth/schema layers to continue hardening for enterprise-scale deployments.
The next MCP server release will likely add more write-path safety features — document locking or conflict detection. Studio v6.15 will address remaining edge cases exposed by the MCP surface's broader read/write coverage.
