Manticore's October is maintenance: crash diagnostics, collation fixes, a Buddy bump.
Manticore Search is an open-source search engine shipping near-daily releases in its v29.x line. September built out a hybrid search stack (facets over fused BM25+vector results, direct-to-disk bulk import). October has been maintenance: 29.18.4 and 29.18.5 fixed string range filters and COUNT(DISTINCT) collation, 29.18.6 makes crash dumps report the running operation and table, and 29.18.7 only bumps the Buddy sidecar to 4.4.8.
Rivet adds Hosted VMs, so agentOS sandboxes are addressable by ID over plain HTTP.
Rivet ships a named launch roughly weekly around its Actors runtime. October brought Pi 1.0 hosting at 0.82 MB of RAM per session, Rivet 3.0 with S3 as its only dependency, and Pi Durable checkpointing every model call to SQLite. On October 12 agentOS 0.4 added durable Hosted VMs created by ID and controllable from RivetKit or plain HTTP, with scoped JWTs for direct client access.

Manticore is still positioning as a self-contained RAG backend that ingests, searches hybrid and aggregates without an external vector store. The hardening pass after the hybrid burst is running long, moving from wrong-result bugs to crash diagnostics and dependency bumps. That is the kind of cleanup that usually precedes a return to features.
Expect more correctness and stability fixes, then a minor release returning to hybrid or ingestion features. The entries don't say which feature comes next.

The releases converge on one position: Rivet as the durable home for agent harnesses in your own backend, with tools isolated in a sandbox. Hosted VMs give that sandbox side a managed, addressable form, reusing the scoped-JWT model from September; BYOC, auth and tracing are the enterprise prerequisites around it.
Expect more agentOS releases that tie Hosted VMs to the Pi harness and Actors, plus 3.0 self-hosting guides; at the current cadence another launch within two weeks is likely.
