What is Salesmsg?

Salesmsg is turning a texting inbox into an agent platform that also answers the phone.

Salesmsg ships weekly and nearly every release now touches AI agents rather than the messaging inbox itself. In the last two months it consolidated agent creation into a single conversational builder, opened the account to external AI agents over MCP, and gave the AI calling agent escalation, live data connections, and session controls. Calling has moved from a side feature to a configured surface with routing actions, queues, and a custom IVR.

What is Signal Desktop?

Signal is quietly rebuilding group governance while polls and pins push into everyday chats

The desktop beta line is shipping a steady run of user-facing social features: polls extended to one-to-one chats, admin deletion of recent group messages, an explicit End Group action, disappearing call events, and reorderable sticker packs. Each release carries one or two concrete changes rather than a bundle. Pinned chats also moved from 4 to 10.

Salesmsg vs Signal Desktop: editorial side-by-side

S6.3

Salesmsg is turning a texting inbox into an agent platform that also answers the phone.

◆ Current state

Salesmsg ships weekly and nearly every release now touches AI agents rather than the messaging inbox itself. In the last two months it consolidated agent creation into a single conversational builder, opened the account to external AI agents over MCP, and gave the AI calling agent escalation, live data connections, and session controls. Calling has moved from a side feature to a configured surface with routing actions, queues, and a custom IVR.

◆ Where it's heading

Two lines are converging. One is agent depth — agents that book HubSpot meetings over SMS, escalate calls to humans, pull from live documents, and now get built by describing them in a sentence. The other is CRM gravity: Salesforce custom objects, HubSpot workflows, and call-outcome logging keep pulling the product deeper inside systems customers already run, which makes it harder to swap out. Credit tracking per workflow and agent signals that AI usage is becoming a metered cost customers need to see.

◆ Prediction

Expect the Unified Agent surface to absorb the calling agent next, so voice and text agents are built and managed in the same place, and expect the credit-tracking work to grow into budget limits or alerts once customers can see what agents cost.

S5.0

Signal is quietly rebuilding group governance while polls and pins push into everyday chats

◆ Current state

The desktop beta line is shipping a steady run of user-facing social features: polls extended to one-to-one chats, admin deletion of recent group messages, an explicit End Group action, disappearing call events, and reorderable sticker packs. Each release carries one or two concrete changes rather than a bundle. Pinned chats also moved from 4 to 10.

◆ Where it's heading

Two threads run through the window. One is group administration — admins gained message deletion and a way to formally close a group, turning groups from open-ended threads into objects with a lifecycle. The other is bringing lightweight social mechanics from group chats down into individual ones. Both extend the surface without touching Signal's privacy model.

◆ Prediction

Expect the group-lifecycle work to continue with more admin controls, and for the features currently landing in desktop beta to promote into the stable line on the same weekly-to-biweekly rhythm.
