Tango ships an MCP server, so AI assistants can answer from a team's captured workflows.
A side-by-side editorial comparison of Kodi and Readwise — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
Kodi 22 reaches its first release candidate, with HDR subtitles the last visible gain.
v22 Piers reached RC1 in late September. FFmpeg moves to 9.0.2 and libass to 0.17.5, and the fix list runs across video, disc, audio and subtitle handling. The one user-visible addition with real weight is HDR overlay support, including UHD PGS subtitles, with tone mapping to SDR on Windows.
Readwise launches Books, its own ebook store and reading app, a week after unbundling.
Readwise now sells three products. A week after splitting Reader and Highlights into separate plans, it launched Readwise Books on October 30: an iOS and Android ebook store and reading app stocked by the major publishers, with reading sessions, following other readers, and Kindle and Goodreads imports. The same release added 13 Books tools to the Readwise MCP server, moved podcast transcripts onto the YouTube cleanup pipeline, and lets the Reader API set reading progress.

The cycle has narrowed as the betas suggested it would. Blu-ray work has moved from new menus to playlist matching, library updates and optical-drive faults, and many fixes target crashes, hangs and shutdown races. New capability now appears only where it completes something the alphas began, as with HDR subtitles following HDR playback work.
Further candidates or a final Piers release are the next step, and these notes point to fixes rather than features. No entry gives a release date.

Readwise is moving from a layer on top of other people's reading apps to owning the purchase and the reading itself. The unbundle, the free Books app and the shared MCP server point to separate entry products that all feed the same account. Reader keeps its weekly cadence of TTS, transcript and parsing work underneath.
Expect weekly Books fixes and Kindle-import work, and a move from invite-only to open signup if the store holds up.
