What is Hostaway?

Hostaway builds out the direct-booking stack while tightening who sees what

Hostaway is shipping steadily across three fronts. The direct-booking site gains Property Pages in the Booking Website Pro editor, on top of a two-step checkout with alternative payment methods and 3D Secure. Back-office work covers invoices for all OTA channels including Airbnb with compliant e-invoicing in Spain, Italy and France, PDF export from the analytics board, and granular financial data permissions. The Inbox was redesigned around in-message translation, templates and quick actions.

What is ProdPad?

ProdPad publishes weekly product-leadership essays and no release notes at all.

The feed is a weekly essay column aimed at product leaders. Two threads run through it: a critique of enterprise AI arguing that models and agents are not the constraint — the newest post makes it flatly, that building an agent is becoming easy while operating one inside a business is not, citing a banking deployment — and a set of pieces on why strategy erodes in practice, losing to the inbox, teams less aligned than leaders believe, process mattering more than tooling. No entry describes anything that shipped.

Hostaway vs ProdPad: editorial side-by-side

H5.0

Hostaway builds out the direct-booking stack while tightening who sees what

◆ Current state

Hostaway is shipping steadily across three fronts. The direct-booking site gains Property Pages in the Booking Website Pro editor, on top of a two-step checkout with alternative payment methods and 3D Secure. Back-office work covers invoices for all OTA channels including Airbnb with compliant e-invoicing in Spain, Italy and France, PDF export from the analytics board, and granular financial data permissions. The Inbox was redesigned around in-message translation, templates and quick actions.

◆ Where it's heading

The centre of gravity is moving toward direct bookings — a site builder that no longer needs a separate web tool, a checkout that accepts what European guests actually pay with, and invoicing that satisfies the tax regimes those guests sit under. Alongside that runs a quieter permissions thread: financial data restrictions and post-checkout hiding of door codes both narrow what each viewer sees. AI CoHost keeps absorbing more reservation data rather than gaining new surfaces.

◆ Prediction

The Guest Portal redesign that the access-code release flagged is the next visible change, and the invoicing work points toward more market-specific e-invoicing regimes as they come into force. CoHost's reliability push suggests it eventually acts on reservations rather than only answering questions about them.

P5.0

ProdPad publishes weekly product-leadership essays and no release notes at all.

◆ Current state

The feed is a weekly essay column aimed at product leaders. Two threads run through it: a critique of enterprise AI arguing that models and agents are not the constraint — the newest post makes it flatly, that building an agent is becoming easy while operating one inside a business is not, citing a banking deployment — and a set of pieces on why strategy erodes in practice, losing to the inbox, teams less aligned than leaders believe, process mattering more than tooling. No entry describes anything that shipped.

◆ Where it's heading

ProdPad is arguing a position rather than announcing product: that the constraint in both enterprise AI and product management is coordination, not capability. The AI thread has been sharpening for three posts, moving from a general orchestration-layer argument to a read of Microsoft's Copilot message to a specific claim about the operating burden of deployed agents. That is a vendor narrowing an argument, which usually precedes selling against it, but nothing here names a product.

◆ Prediction

The operating-agents argument has narrowed enough that a ProdPad capability aimed at governing agent work is the natural landing point, though this feed gives no evidence one exists. Expect more weekly essays; releases will stay invisible unless a changelog source is wired up.
