Ellie Planner vs Notesnook: at a glance
What is Ellie Planner?
Ellie follows its MCP opening with a 30-day Trash and Google Calendar editing.
Ellie is a solo-built task and calendar planner on web, desktop, iPhone and iPad. The August catch-up release opened task data to outside agents through MCP and an API in beta, alongside iPad Week Calendar, Pomodoro and Quick Capture. The October 5 update added a 30-day Trash across platforms, Google Calendar editing and more iPhone features.
What is Notesnook?
Notesnook goes multilingual, then spends a month fixing sync, search and reminders
Notesnook, the end-to-end encrypted notes app, now ships desktop and mobile releases every week or two, with notes on its blog. October opened with localization: desktop v3.4.9 added language switching and mobile v3.4.14 translated the whole app into 11 languages. The releases since are fixes: rare sync issues that could leave changes behind, backup status in settings, table-editing performance, search parsing and reminder scheduling.
