What is Customer.io?
Customer.io adds hosted and embedded sign-up forms, so contacts can enter without custom code
Customer.io now captures contacts itself: sign-up forms can run in-app, embed on any page via a script tag, or live on a Customer.io-hosted page, and submissions create or update people in the workspace. That lands days after the public/private API key split and a new Object trigger, on top of an October of snapshot segments, geofence dwell time and Design Studio API coverage.
What is Dotdigital?
Dotdigital adds MCP access, more AI agents and WhatsApp coupons ahead of the holidays.
Dotdigital's November release targets marketer admin work for the holiday season: more AI agents for tasks like building segments, writing content and analysing results, MCP access to its data, and coupon codes delivered over WhatsApp. It builds on July's release, which added a first-party loyalty module, AI agents and real-time personalization, and earlier native Snowflake, BigQuery and Databricks integrations.

Customer.io
5.0MKT AUTO
Customer.io adds hosted and embedded sign-up forms, so contacts can enter without custom code
◆ Current state
Customer.io now captures contacts itself: sign-up forms can run in-app, embed on any page via a script tag, or live on a Customer.io-hosted page, and submissions create or update people in the workspace. That lands days after the public/private API key split and a new Object trigger, on top of an October of snapshot segments, geofence dwell time and Design Studio API coverage.
◆ Where it's heading
The recent run pushes Customer.io upstream of messaging: it is taking on the steps teams used to wire themselves, from credential setup to audience capture to email content via API. Consent records, polygon geofences and dwell time show the same pattern on the data side, with more state recorded and acted on inside the platform.
◆ Prediction
Expect form-level follow-ups such as form-submission triggers or form analytics, since the rollout runs through 6 November and the entry frames forms as a journey entry point.
Dotdigital
2.5MKT AUTO
Dotdigital adds MCP access, more AI agents and WhatsApp coupons ahead of the holidays.
◆ Current state
Dotdigital's November release targets marketer admin work for the holiday season: more AI agents for tasks like building segments, writing content and analysing results, MCP access to its data, and coupon codes delivered over WhatsApp. It builds on July's release, which added a first-party loyalty module, AI agents and real-time personalization, and earlier native Snowflake, BigQuery and Databricks integrations.
◆ Where it's heading
Dotdigital is moving from a campaign-sending tool toward an assistant-driven platform where agents and outside LLMs handle routine marketing work. WhatsApp coupons tie its loyalty and messaging pieces together for retailers.
◆ Prediction
Expect the agents to take on more of the campaign lifecycle, from audience building to reporting. The entries don't show pricing for these features, so how they are packaged is unclear.
