Boords now owns the full script-to-storyboard workflow — and that changes what it competes with.
Boords has expanded from a storyboard creation tool into a pre-production pipeline platform. Scripts now live inside Boords — written, reviewed, approved, and converted to storyboards without leaving the app. The Asset Library adds a shared image and AI-generated character database that teams can build and reuse across projects. These two additions in a single month represent a category shift, not a feature release.

The recent run has been split between editing ergonomics — a grid view for slides with the same copy, duplicate, rearrange and delete actions as the thumbnail rail, PowerPoint add-in accessibility fixes — and AI applied to what the audience said, with automatic takeaways surfaced on the Results tab after a session. The larger move is Menti Pulse, in closed beta: recurring anonymous pulse checks delivered inside Microsoft Teams chats.

Boords is closing in on a full pre-production studio: script → storyboard → client review, all in one tool. The retention story — keeping video production teams inside Boords rather than splitting across Google Docs, Frame.io, and Dropbox — is getting stronger with each release. The next gap is the transition out of Boords and into production tools.
◆ Prediction
Animatic or rough-cut timeline export from storyboards is the likely next release — the pipeline now goes from script in to reviewed storyboard out; closing the loop to rough-cut delivery would complete the pre-production surface and give Boords a clear handoff point to editors.

◆ Where it's heading
The product is trying to exist between meetings rather than only during them. Menti Pulse runs on a schedule in Teams with trends over time, and AI takeaways make what happened in a session persist as something readable afterwards rather than a chart that dies with the room. Everything else is craft work on the authoring surface, which is where Mentimeter's existing users spend their time.
◆ Prediction
Expect Menti Pulse to leave closed beta with Teams as the only delivery channel at first, and expect the AI takeaways already generated per session to become the natural summary layer over Pulse's recurring results.
