My Hours
My Hours adds an audit trail to its timesheet approval cycle.
A side-by-side editorial comparison of Asana and Productboard — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
Asana is spending its fall on governance: permissions, compliance, and admin plumbing.
Asana's last month of releases is dominated by control-plane work rather than new surfaces. Automation rules now run with their owner's live permissions, HIPAA arrived for Asana Gov, and the Admin Console was reorganized with AI settings broken out as their own section. Collaboration got one long-requested piece, threaded comments, alongside approval and sharing fixes in the Timesheets and Budgets add-on and Portfolios.
Productboard v2 makes entity types per-workspace, breaking fixed-enum clients in favor of extensibility
Productboard's v2 API has been on a steady expansion path through summer: fulltext search for notes, company source metadata, team and tag filtering, custom field presence filters. These entries fill v1 parity gaps. The September 22 EntityType change is the first real breaking move — shifting from a fixed enum to an open string that varies by workspace. Clients that assumed a fixed set of entity types now need to query the workspace's entity configuration to get the authoritative list.

The summer sparks (AI Teammates with skills, agent-built rules, Pages, teamless projects) widened what Asana can do; this stretch makes those capabilities safe to roll out in regulated and multi-product enterprise domains. Giving AI its own admin section and tying automation to current permissions both point the same way: Asana is preparing admins to approve more autonomous behavior across the workspace.
Expect admin-level controls for AI Teammates and automations — scoping, audit trails, or per-product policies — to land inside the new Admin Console sections. Whether Asana Gov gets the AI features themselves is not clear from these entries.

The EntityType shift is the foundation for workspace-specific schema customization in v2. The pattern across the June–September entries is: close v1 parity gaps, then add extensibility hooks. The beta customer score endpoint signals that Productboard is adding analytics surfaces on top of the data model, not just read/write operations.
The beta customer score endpoint will likely reach GA in a subsequent release as usage accumulates from enabled workspaces. Dynamic entity types will likely unlock workspace-specific filtering and field configuration in later API releases.
