OpenEMM vs OpnForm: at a glance
What is OpenEMM?
OpenEMM ships versioned builds on schedule, with no notes on what changed.
OpenEMM moved to its 26.05 line in July with a full frontend and backend GA build. Since then only frontend builds have followed (26.05.111 in September, 26.05.132 in October). Earlier lines (25.11, 25.04) got maintenance releases into December 2025. No entry describes actual changes.
What is OpnForm?
OpnForm added a full MCP server in v2.4 — AI assistants can now build, preview, and manage forms without touching the UI.
OpnForm shipped its MCP server in v2.4 (August 2026) and spent v2.5 hardening the guest-first flow: forms can now be built from Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, or Codex without an account, with read-only previews before any data is saved. The official OpenAI plugin is distributed and verified. v2.3 added Make/Albato integrations, AI formula generation for computed variables, and an audio form block. The product has moved from a self-hosted form tool to a tool explicitly designed for AI agent workflows.

OpenEMM
2.5MKT AUTO
OpenEMM ships versioned builds on schedule, with no notes on what changed.
◆ Current state
OpenEMM moved to its 26.05 line in July with a full frontend and backend GA build. Since then only frontend builds have followed (26.05.111 in September, 26.05.132 in October). Earlier lines (25.11, 25.04) got maintenance releases into December 2025. No entry describes actual changes.
◆ Where it's heading
The pattern is roughly two feature lines a year, then frontend-only builds and backported maintenance. The direction of the product can't be read from version numbers alone.
◆ Prediction
Another 26.05 frontend build in the next one to two months fits the cadence; the next major line's timing and content are unclear from the entries.
OpnForm
6.3MKT AUTO
OpnForm added a full MCP server in v2.4 — AI assistants can now build, preview, and manage forms without touching the UI.
◆ Current state
OpnForm shipped its MCP server in v2.4 (August 2026) and spent v2.5 hardening the guest-first flow: forms can now be built from Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, or Codex without an account, with read-only previews before any data is saved. The official OpenAI plugin is distributed and verified. v2.3 added Make/Albato integrations, AI formula generation for computed variables, and an audio form block. The product has moved from a self-hosted form tool to a tool explicitly designed for AI agent workflows.
◆ Where it's heading
The MCP investment is the clearest strategic signal in OpnForm's recent history: two consecutive major releases have been organized around making forms AI-native — first adding the server, then hardening the security and guest-first creation flow. Computed variables gaining PDF support and AI formula generation in the same cycle completes a workflow where an AI agent can construct a form, define computed logic, and generate a submission PDF without human intervention.
◆ Prediction
The next focus will be MCP submission handling — an AI agent that can build a form should also be able to query and act on its submission data. v2.4 added submission reading via MCP; expect richer filtering, aggregations, and webhook-triggered agent actions in the next release.
