The 3.3 one-click migration from The Events Calendar makes the competitive intent explicit — this is a displacement play against the category incumbent, fought on setup friction rather than feature count. Absent from every release so far is any AI or automation surface, which is notable given how much of the WordPress plugin market moved that way in the same window.

The Zoom work most likely lands inside a numbered 3.8 alongside other virtual-event pieces, with additional meeting providers or calendar sync as the next gaps to close. Whether the roadmap eventually turns toward automation is not something these entries indicate either way.
