What is Neos CMS?

Neos is rebuilding how its content repository commits and locks, one 9.2 beta at a time

Neos is a PHP content management system whose 9.x line runs three streams at once: 9.0 and 9.1 maintenance releases carrying the same backported fixes, and 9.2 betas where the real work happens. The feed stores these releases as bare tag lines, so what is in them is only visible at the source — the current beta's 32-character body conceals roughly 3,400 characters of notes. Those notes cover the event-sourced content repository: atomic commits, locking, event migrations and structure adjustments.

What is Swipe Pages?

A landing page builder that turned itself into an agent surface, then started charging for it.

Swipe Pages has spent 2026 converting a conventional landing page builder into an agent-driven one. The AI Agents launch in December 2025 established chat-based page generation; every release since has hardened it — Code Mode with model selection and block locking, AI image generation in-builder, tracking codes and Events API integrations carried over from the classic product. As of July, AI pages have reached feature parity with the hand-built ones on the things that matter commercially: A/B testing, personalization, and cross-subaccount portability.

Neos is rebuilding how its content repository commits and locks, one 9.2 beta at a time

◆ Current state

Neos is a PHP content management system whose 9.x line runs three streams at once: 9.0 and 9.1 maintenance releases carrying the same backported fixes, and 9.2 betas where the real work happens. The feed stores these releases as bare tag lines, so what is in them is only visible at the source — the current beta's 32-character body conceals roughly 3,400 characters of notes. Those notes cover the event-sourced content repository: atomic commits, locking, event migrations and structure adjustments.

◆ Where it's heading

The 9.2 line is reworking the content repository's concurrency model rather than its surface. Atomic events with commitAll remove content stream closing as a locking mechanism, global locking moves into the event store adapter, and follow-up migrations exist for workspaces rebased against content streams that no longer close. Alongside that, a crupgrade:eventsstatus command lets operators see which event migrations apply to their installation — which is the tell that upgrades from earlier 9.x versions are expected to need work.

◆ Prediction

Removing content stream closing changes upgrade behaviour for anyone with rebased workspaces, so expect the remaining betas to be mostly migration coverage and race-condition fixes rather than new features before 9.2 goes final.

A landing page builder that turned itself into an agent surface, then started charging for it.

◆ Current state

Swipe Pages has spent 2026 converting a conventional landing page builder into an agent-driven one. The AI Agents launch in December 2025 established chat-based page generation; every release since has hardened it — Code Mode with model selection and block locking, AI image generation in-builder, tracking codes and Events API integrations carried over from the classic product. As of July, AI pages have reached feature parity with the hand-built ones on the things that matter commercially: A/B testing, personalization, and cross-subaccount portability.

◆ Where it's heading

Two arcs are converging. The first is distribution: Swipe Genie became addressable from outside the product via MCP in April, first on request, then GA across all plans in July — the builder is now something an external agent drives, not just a UI a marketer opens. The second is monetization: AI credits landed on every plan in May as a purchasable, non-expiring unit, which turns generation volume into revenue rather than cost. Bug-fix releases in between are dominated by agent-session plumbing — transcripts, thought signatures, invitee access — the maintenance profile of a product whose core loop is now a conversation.

◆ Prediction

Expect the credit system to gain the usual second-order machinery — per-subaccount allocation and usage reporting — since subaccount timezone and analytics work is already landing. The MCP surface reaching GA on all plans without a matching pricing line suggests agent-driven publishing is next to be metered.
