QuickBooks now proposes chart-of-accounts fixes and waits for approval before touching the books.
Intuit used its Connect event to move QuickBooks work upstream of the bank feed. COA Cleanup scans a client's books, proposes fixes for duplicate, misnamed or mis-typed accounts, and reclassifies transactions only after each action is approved. A rebuilt Edit mode handles the manual finish with inline edits and drag-and-drop hierarchies. This follows a summer spent on bank feed matching and the move to the Intuit Accountant Suite.
Sequence is filling in the enterprise checklist for its quote-to-cash billing platform.
Sequence ships small, frequent updates across quoting, billing and accounting sync. October brought enterprise SSO, amendment and upsell quotes that change live contracts, two-way QuickBooks sync for payments and credit notes, NetSuite item mapping on credit grants, and one-time-code login for the customer portal.

The product is taking on the repetitive parts of accounting while keeping the accountant as the approver: proposals, audit logs, a cleanup history page and respect for closed-books dates. Scope now runs from single transaction matches to the structure of a client's file. Clients get a narrower version limited to easily reversible suggestions, so permissions are splitting by risk, not just by role.
Expect more approve-first cleanup tools aimed at new-client onboarding, with the client-facing tier widening only for reversible actions. Whether bank feed auto-posting ships next is unclear from these releases.

The product is connecting the whole revenue path, from quote approval through contract changes to the general ledger, while adding the access controls larger customers require. Accounting integrations are getting deeper, not just wider.
Expect more enterprise controls (roles, audit trails) and further two-way ERP sync, following SSO and the QuickBooks work.
