Hello Bar vs Mautic: at a glance
What is Hello Bar?
Hello Bar's popups now run surveys, polls and scheduled campaigns
Hello Bar builds popups, bars and lead-capture forms. Since late September it has added Forms & Surveys, with survey, poll, quiz, feedback and contact goals shown as modals, sliders, inline embeds or page takeovers, and launched Campaigns, which schedules popups to switch on and off by time window or weekly pattern. October brought a redesigned Trigger tab with a reopen limit for custom-event popups, and periodic session expiry. July had added gamification popups, video and a Widgets category.
What is Mautic?
Mautic patches remote code execution in campaign import across three supported branches.
Mautic, the open-source marketing automation platform, released 7.2.2, 6.0.10 and 5.2.12 on 26 October as security releases, including remote code execution through campaign import and a Twig sandbox escape in theme templates. September's 7.2.1 was a bug sweep after the 7.2.0 feature release that added transactional emails, A/B testing for segment emails and a Marketplace API.

◆ Current state
Hello Bar builds popups, bars and lead-capture forms.
◆ Where it's heading
The product is widening from offer popups into a general on-site data-collection and scheduling tool. Campaigns took about eight weeks from 'coming soon' to live, and the October changes are about making setup faster.
◆ Prediction
Expect more Forms & Surveys follow-ups, since the launch post asks for ideas on what's next; the entries do not name specifics.
Mautic
5.0MKT AUTO
Mautic patches remote code execution in campaign import across three supported branches.
◆ Current state
Mautic, the open-source marketing automation platform, released 7.2.2, 6.0.10 and 5.2.12 on 26 October as security releases, including remote code execution through campaign import and a Twig sandbox escape in theme templates. September's 7.2.1 was a bug sweep after the 7.2.0 feature release that added transactional emails, A/B testing for segment emails and a Marketplace API.
◆ Where it's heading
The project keeps three branches (5.x, 6.x, 7.x) under coordinated security maintenance, with fixes landing on all of them the same day. Feature work comes in larger minor releases, followed by point releases that fix campaigns, forms and the builder.
◆ Prediction
Expect 7.3 release candidates next, given 7.2.0 followed a two-RC pattern, with 5.x and 6.x continuing to receive security-only releases.
