Nutshell
Nutshell is shipping full-stack CRM depth—behavioral email sequences, quota management, and QuickBooks integration—at an unusually fast pace.
A side-by-side editorial comparison of Folk and Weflow — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
folk CRM adds EU data residency and tasks in an active shipping month
Folk has shipped at a high cadence over two months: a dedicated mobile app, an MCP server for AI agent access, task management, talk-to-text, group UX improvements, and EU data residency. Each addition addresses a distinct adoption barrier — mobile capture, AI workflows, European compliance, team coordination.
Weflow is moving its reporting inside Salesforce rather than asking reps to leave it.
A five-item release on 3 August is the substance of this window, and most of it lands in Salesforce rather than in Weflow. The new Weflow Advanced Analytics managed package builds activity analytics natively in the customer's own CRM without consuming API calls for reporting, covering company-wide activity trends, duplicate detection, and orphaned accounts. Its companion Activity Timeline drops in as a lightning component on any page. Ask AI reached the Chrome extension, so it can be triggered from a record sidebar or the extension search anywhere on the web, and a month earlier it gained stricter access guardrails, a faster model, and a 40% processing speed improvement.

Folk is building toward a CRM that closes deals on founders' terms: light enough to skip an admin, extensible enough to plug into AI workflows via MCP, and now compliant enough for EU buyers. Tasks and the Interactions API beta signal an expansion beyond pure contact management into sales workflow territory.
The Interactions API (beta since Jul 29) is the most likely next GA milestone. Folk's MCP-first posture also sets up deeper AI-native CRM actions — likely next is letting agents write back to the CRM, not just read from it.

Weflow is positioning itself as infrastructure inside Salesforce instead of a destination beside it. Activity capture already ran in the background; now the reporting on that capture lives in the customer's CRM under their own ownership, and the assistant is reachable from wherever the rep already is. The admin-console work — read-only mode granularity, custom object owner logging rules, email processing delay configuration — is the unglamorous half of the same idea, giving Salesforce admins control over what Weflow writes into their system.
Expect the Advanced Analytics package to accumulate more native components on the Activity Timeline pattern, since the point of a managed package is that additions arrive without Weflow touching the UI. Whether Ask AI gets write access rather than answering questions is not something these entries settle.
