What is dbt Core?

dbt-core 1.13 drops Python 3.10 and learns to tolerate v2-only project config.

dbt 2.0 GA split the project into a proprietary 'dbt' binary and dbt-oss, and the 1.x line now works as a bridge to it. The 1.13 beta added an opt-in --use-v2-parser backed by the Fusion parser, 1.12.6 prints a v2 notice on dbt --version, and the 1.13.0 release candidate drops Python 3.10 while accepting v2-only keys in dbt_project.yml and ignoring v2 'checks' nodes in --state manifests.

What is Parseable?

Parseable's 3.2 patches turn the observability console into a toolset for external agents.

Parseable's 3.2 patch line shipped six releases between mid-September and late October. v3.2.5 added a tool executor API for external MCP servers and exposed read-only tools, and v3.2.6 added log and trace errors as tools and saved PromQL filters. Earlier patches added server-wide throttling, crash-safe staging recovery, and CPU, memory, disk and query metrics.

ANALYTICS
5.0

dbt-core 1.13 drops Python 3.10 and learns to tolerate v2-only project config.

◆ Current state

dbt 2.0 GA split the project into a proprietary 'dbt' binary and dbt-oss, and the 1.x line now works as a bridge to it.

◆ Where it's heading

Each 1.x release makes mixed v1/v2 projects less painful: shared config files, shared manifests and a shared parser. The 1.x line looks set to stay maintained mainly as a migration path, with compatibility shims rather than new modelling features.

◆ Prediction

1.13.0 final is likely within weeks, with the v2 parser still opt-in; the bigger question the entries leave open is when 1.x stops getting feature work.

5.0

Parseable's 3.2 patches turn the observability console into a toolset for external agents.

◆ Current state

Parseable's 3.2 patch line shipped six releases between mid-September and late October. v3.2.5 added a tool executor API for external MCP servers and exposed read-only tools, and v3.2.6 added log and trace errors as tools and saved PromQL filters. Earlier patches added server-wide throttling, crash-safe staging recovery, and CPU, memory, disk and query metrics.

◆ Where it's heading

The earlier focus on trustworthy querying continues, but a new consumer has appeared: agents calling Parseable through tools. Alongside that, the operational metrics and throttling show a system being run under real load.

◆ Prediction

Expect the tool catalog to keep growing in the next patches, with write-capable tools a clear open question since v3.2.5 stops at read-only. Query stability and metrics fixes should continue alongside it.
