A side-by-side editorial comparison of Cvent and MySignature — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
Cvent is pulling rail into managed attendee travel and building matchmaking into the event itself
Cvent publishes on a fixed release rhythm — dated product-release notes for each launch window, per-solution notes for Exchange and Splash, a monthly ICYMI recap, and Spotlight posts that introduce one capability at length. Bodies arrive truncated to roughly 150 characters, so the Spotlights are where substance is signalled even though the feed only carries their opening. The current pair covers Train Travel and Community Meetings.
MySignature turned its digital business card into a lead-capture surface, then instrumented it.
MySignature started as an email signature designer and has spent the last year building out a second product around digital business cards. August was the month that surface stopped being a way to hand over contact details and became a way to collect them: a Collect Contacts form block, a Contacts list behind it, and analytics on views, clicks, QR scans and traffic sources. The signature editor keeps advancing separately, with reply and forward variants the newest addition.

Two directions are visible. Attendee travel is being consolidated: rail joins air and hotel as something requested, imported and managed in one place, which matters most for European and multi-city programmes where flights are not the default. And networking is being productised — Community Meetings turn shared interests into scheduled connections, addressing the thing attendees say they come for and planners find hardest to engineer. Around both, the regular release windows continue retiring old options, such as Facebook sharing in Splash.
Travel and networking converge on the same attendee record, so expect arrival and departure times to start constraining which Community Meetings a person is offered rather than the two being scheduled independently.

The direction is from presentation to acquisition. Design tooling — drag mode, AI layout suggestions, banner campaigns — made signatures look better; the card work makes them measurable and makes them capture. That is a different business: a signature is a design asset, a card that collects and reports on leads is a small marketing channel, and the Contacts list is the first place MySignature holds customer data of its own.
Expect the Contacts list to grow the obvious next pieces — export, tagging, and a route into the CRMs and marketing tools its Teams customers already run.
