Customer.io cuts its API credentials to public and private keys, and opens email to the API
Customer.io now offers public keys for browsers and apps and a private key that works across every API, so teams no longer juggle site IDs, Track API keys and App API keys. Other October releases: Design Studio API coverage of the full email lifecycle, snapshot segments, geofence dwell time, Firebase Installation ID support ahead of Firebase's move away from registration tokens, and agent-ready setup prompts for data-in integrations.
Hunter moves prospecting into AI assistants, with a ChatGPT app and MCP setup for every client.
Hunter is an email-finding and outreach platform. Its late-September releases put the product inside AI assistants: a ChatGPT app on every plan including Free, native setups for Claude, Gemini and Perplexity, and a hosted MCP server for Cursor and other clients. Saved searches now flag new matching companies. Earlier in the year it built out Sequences with A/B testing, managed domains and inbox warm-up.

Other October releases: Design Studio API coverage of the full email lifecycle, snapshot segments, geofence dwell time, Firebase Installation ID support ahead of Firebase's move away from registration tokens, and agent-ready setup prompts for data-in integrations.
The product is being made easier for code and coding agents to drive. A single private key, a full-lifecycle Design Studio API and prompts built for CLI and MCP use all reduce manual setup. Audience work is moving alongside it, with point-in-time snapshots and location triggers that depend on how long someone stays rather than whether they passed by.
Expect more agent-oriented setup paths, since the prompts currently cover data-in integrations and recent entries lean on CLI and MCP tooling. Migration guidance for the older API credentials is also likely, though the entry does not mention retiring them.

Hunter is splitting into two surfaces: Sequences as a full outbound stack (provisioning, warm-up, pacing, testing) and the data layer exposed to assistants through MCP. Metrics changes such as recipient-based engagement rates apply to the API and MCP tools too, so both surfaces stay in step.
Expect more of the Sequences workflow reachable from assistants, since the ChatGPT app already launches sequences while ChatGPT limits email-finding requests there.
