What is Hoppscotch?

A browser API client rebuilding itself as self-hosted infrastructure — while its cloud loses collections.

Hoppscotch ships on a roughly two-week train, and the substance has moved off the web app onto the desktop client and self-hosted deployments: cookie persistence, connection timeouts, arbitrary non-root container UIDs, SMTP OAuth2, configurable proxy URLs. The last three releases have been dominated by a personal-workspace data-loss incident that forced a cloud rollback, deferred a Cloud Desktop release, and was only resolved in 2026.7.0. Enterprise-only patches now appear in the same feed as community ones.

The through-line has been removing external dependencies and wait states; this release removes the human from the trigger. Agents that Cursor created now subscribe to their own pull requests and drive them to completion, fixing CI and answering bot comments unprompted. Isolated per-subagent VMs are what make that safe to parallelize - swarms can work without colliding - and steering lets a person redirect a running agent at the next tool call rather than interrupting it. Cursor is building the always-on case rather than the faster-autocomplete one.

◆ Prediction

With subscriptions limited to cloud agents for now, the obvious next step is bringing event-triggered runs to local agents, along with the controls an always-on fleet needs - spend limits, approval gates, and a way to review what ran while nobody was watching.

Feature work is Postman-parity catch-up (collection-level scripts, OpenAPI 3.1 export, API doc versioning) rather than anything that redefines the client. Meanwhile the reliability debt is visible in public: three consecutive releases carried an incident banner.
