What is Craft CMS?

Craft 6 is being rebuilt on Laravel in public, one alpha at a time

Craft CMS is running its 6.0 line through rapid alphas, and each one moves another subsystem onto Laravel. Blade views can now be loaded inside Twig templates with Craft registering Blade directives for near parity; asset I/O resolves through Laravel filesystem disks; queue jobs resolve dependencies through the service container; user elements implement Illuminate's HasLocalePreference. SQLite is now a supported database, login is rate limited, and accounts can connect to Socialite providers.

What is Gumloop?

Gumloop is turning its whole connector catalog into agent memory, one week at a time.

Gumloop launched Company Brain in early July and has widened it on almost every release since — Zendesk as a source, then permission-preserving Google Drive, then any connector in the catalog at all. The agent layer is picking up its own plumbing in parallel: organization skills sync from a GitHub repository and update as commits land, skills and connectors are manageable through the developer API (including by other agents), and agents can be DM'd directly in Slack. Models rotate through continuously, with Claude Opus 5 and Kimi K3 the latest, alongside bring-your-own Fireworks keys for running open models on a customer's own account.

Craft 6 is being rebuilt on Laravel in public, one alpha at a time

◆ Current state

Craft CMS is running its 6.0 line through rapid alphas, and each one moves another subsystem onto Laravel. Blade views can now be loaded inside Twig templates with Craft registering Blade directives for near parity; asset I/O resolves through Laravel filesystem disks; queue jobs resolve dependencies through the service container; user elements implement Illuminate's HasLocalePreference. SQLite is now a supported database, login is rate limited, and accounts can connect to Socialite providers.

◆ Where it's heading

This is a framework transplant carried out in the open. The alphas move from templating and storage (alpha.10) through identity and asset handling (alpha.11, alpha.12) to session, queue and control-panel internals (alpha.13, alpha.14) — each step replacing a Yii-era mechanism with its Laravel equivalent. alpha.14 makes the cost explicit for the ecosystem: plugins must stop declaring extra.laravel.providers and lose automatic trait lifecycle hooks, while a new first-party control-panel component library (Button, ButtonGroup, Callout, Checkbox) arrives to replace ad-hoc markup.

◆ Prediction

Expect further alphas to continue converting Yii-era subsystems and to keep breaking the plugin contract until the component library and provider model settle; a beta is unlikely before plugin authors have a stable API to target.

7.5

Gumloop is turning its whole connector catalog into agent memory, one week at a time.

◆ Current state

◆ Where it's heading

Two loops are closing at once. On knowledge, every connector Gumloop adds now doubles as a retrieval source, so catalog growth and Brain quality compound instead of competing for roadmap. On capability, skills are becoming versioned artifacts that live in a repository and agents are becoming things other agents can configure through the API — the platform is moving from a place you build one agent to a place agents are provisioned programmatically. Governance is following a step behind rather than leading: audit logs for Brain activity, access requests routed to approvers, per-conversation credit breakdowns, and usage-based billing for workflow AI steps.

◆ Prediction

Expect the same generalization that took Brain from fixed sources to any connector to be applied to triggers and actions, and expect the agent-configures-agent API to grow into templated provisioning so organizations can stamp out fleets rather than assemble agents one at a time.
