The model-adoption cadence has stopped being news — it is the baseline the project is measured against, and the entries read as a supply feed rather than a roadmap. Where the product is actually moving is up the stack: Comfy MCP made the graph drivable by agents, and Comfy For Teams attaches a paid, multi-seat surface to it. Comfy is converting a local tool with a fast integration pipeline into shared infrastructure someone pays for.
◆ Prediction
Expect the next new capability to be a team- or org-level control rather than another model — shared workflows, pinned node versions, or managed Partner Node credentials. The entries carry no pricing detail, so how far the Teams tier reaches is still unclear.

The arc runs from capability expansion to hardening. Having taken on more untrusted input formats, libvips is now paying the cost of that surface in memory-safety fixes, several credited to external fuzzing and security researchers. Format reach and attack surface are growing together.

With 8.18.3-rc1 dominated by loader bounds checks, the next tags are likely to continue as patch-level hardening on the 8.18 line rather than open a new format frontier.
