What is Clay?

Clay is turning credit spend from something you watch into something you can cap.

Clay's weekly roundups run two streams at once: Claygent capability — Skills, open-weight models, Snowflake text-to-SQL — and the commercial plumbing around credits. The August 17 week adds Credit Budgets, which moves credit governance past dashboards and alerts into allocations an admin sets in advance. Function testing before a run targets the same waste from the other end.

What is Swipe Pages?

A landing page builder that turned itself into an agent surface, then started charging for it.

Swipe Pages has spent 2026 converting a conventional landing page builder into an agent-driven one. The AI Agents launch in December 2025 established chat-based page generation; every release since has hardened it — Code Mode with model selection and block locking, AI image generation in-builder, tracking codes and Events API integrations carried over from the classic product. As of July, AI pages have reached feature parity with the hand-built ones on the things that matter commercially: A/B testing, personalization, and cross-subaccount portability.

Clay is turning credit spend from something you watch into something you can cap.

◆ Current state

Clay's weekly roundups run two streams at once: Claygent capability — Skills, open-weight models, Snowflake text-to-SQL — and the commercial plumbing around credits. The August 17 week adds Credit Budgets, which moves credit governance past dashboards and alerts into allocations an admin sets in advance. Function testing before a run targets the same waste from the other end.

◆ Where it's heading

The credit work has run for two straight months: time-series graphs, spike alerts, CPJ allowance counters, faster reporting, and now budgets. Read as one line, it is Clay building what a buyer needs before approving spend on an agent priced per run. The capability stream keeps pushing Claygent outward — Skills, cheaper models, Ads 2.0 into paid media — while the credit stream makes that consumption predictable enough to sell into larger organisations.

◆ Prediction

Budgets set at the workspace level point to per-team or per-table allocations next, with enforcement rather than alerting as the default.

◆ Current state

Swipe Pages has spent 2026 converting a conventional landing page builder into an agent-driven one. The AI Agents launch in December 2025 established chat-based page generation; every release since has hardened it — Code Mode with model selection and block locking, AI image generation in-builder, tracking codes and Events API integrations carried over from the classic product. As of July, AI pages have reached feature parity with the hand-built ones on the things that matter commercially: A/B testing, personalization, and cross-subaccount portability.

◆ Where it's heading

Two arcs are converging. The first is distribution: Swipe Genie became addressable from outside the product via MCP in April, first on request, then GA across all plans in July — the builder is now something an external agent drives, not just a UI a marketer opens. The second is monetization: AI credits landed on every plan in May as a purchasable, non-expiring unit, which turns generation volume into revenue rather than cost. Bug-fix releases in between are dominated by agent-session plumbing — transcripts, thought signatures, invitee access — the maintenance profile of a product whose core loop is now a conversation.

◆ Prediction

Expect the credit system to gain the usual second-order machinery — per-subaccount allocation and usage reporting — since subaccount timezone and analytics work is already landing. The MCP surface reaching GA on all plans without a matching pricing line suggests agent-driven publishing is next to be metered.
