What is Celoxis?

PPM thought-leadership dominates the feed; no changelog to read

Celoxis's feed is a project-portfolio-management blog — buyer guides, methodology frameworks, and vertical use cases (solar, construction, engineering PMOs). The posts market Celoxis's positioning but don't document product changes.

What is Sugar Calendar?

A WordPress calendar slowly rebuilding itself into a full event-management plugin.

Sugar Calendar ships two to four feature releases a year and spends each one filling a gap in event management rather than in calendar display. Since the 3.0 rewrite it has added venues (3.5), controllable recurring-event series plus wider Stripe options (3.6), and RSVPs, tags and speakers (3.7). The newest post drops native Zoom meeting creation into the event editor, so an online event no longer needs a link generated elsewhere and pasted in. The feed is sparse and uneven — nearly three years separate the 2.1.9 post from 3.0 — so cadence here is a publishing artifact as much as a development one.

Celoxis vs Sugar Calendar: editorial side-by-side

C5.0

PPM thought-leadership dominates the feed; no changelog to read

◆ Current state

Celoxis's feed is a project-portfolio-management blog — buyer guides, methodology frameworks, and vertical use cases (solar, construction, engineering PMOs). The posts market Celoxis's positioning but don't document product changes.

◆ Where it's heading

The editorial line leans into AI-in-PPM and governance themes for enterprise buyers, but that is messaging, not shipped capability. Product direction isn't visible from these entries.

◆ Prediction

Continued enterprise-PMO SEO content, likely more AI-and-governance framing; no product releases to predict.

S2.5

A WordPress calendar slowly rebuilding itself into a full event-management plugin.

◆ Current state

◆ Where it's heading

The direction is consistent: absorb the pieces an organizer would otherwise assemble from other plugins. Venues, then attendees, now the meeting link itself. The 3.3 one-click migration from The Events Calendar makes the competitive intent explicit — this is a displacement play against the category incumbent, fought on setup friction rather than feature count. Absent from every release so far is any AI or automation surface, which is notable given how much of the WordPress plugin market moved that way in the same window.

◆ Prediction

The Zoom work most likely lands inside a numbered 3.8 alongside other virtual-event pieces, with additional meeting providers or calendar sync as the next gaps to close. Whether the roadmap eventually turns toward automation is not something these entries indicate either way.
