Audacity vs Carrd: at a glance
What is Audacity?
Audacity 4.0.2 fixes the corruption and crash bugs 4.0 shipped with; features wait for 4.1.
Audacity 4.0 moved the editor to Qt with a new clip model, workspaces and the .aup4 format. 4.0.1 added multi-file export and a portable Windows build; 4.0.2 is a stability release that fixes project corruption from empty clips and cross-project copies, several crashes, and restores autosave during recording plus missing trim, clear and zoom shortcuts.
What is Carrd?
Carrd's changelog stays tiny: a new background pattern, small form fixes, recoverable deletes.
Carrd's visible record is five terse entries. Deleted sites land in a Trash folder for three days, or fourteen on Pro. Signup forms post directly to Resend, the dashboard gained an Analytics shortcut, and Prefill Reply-To now fills the sender's name. The latest entry adds a Leaves background pattern in static and animated versions.

Audacity
2.5DESIGN
Audacity 4.0.2 fixes the corruption and crash bugs 4.0 shipped with; features wait for 4.1.
◆ Current state
Audacity 4.0 moved the editor to Qt with a new clip model, workspaces and the .aup4 format. 4.0.1 added multi-file export and a portable Windows build; 4.0.2 is a stability release that fixes project corruption from empty clips and cross-project copies, several crashes, and restores autosave during recording plus missing trim, clear and zoom shortcuts.
◆ Where it's heading
The 4.0 line is in a recovery phase: each patch restores Audacity 3 behaviour or fixes data-loss bugs from the rewrite. The 4.0.2 notes say new features and further returns of missing ones are held for 4.1.
◆ Prediction
4.1 is the next meaningful release and should focus on bringing back features dropped in the Qt rewrite; more 4.0.x patches are likely if corruption reports continue.
Carrd
5.0DESIGN
Carrd's changelog stays tiny: a new background pattern, small form fixes, recoverable deletes.
◆ Current state
Carrd's visible record is five terse entries.
◆ Where it's heading
The cadence is small polish on a mature builder: forms, dashboard conveniences and design assets. Nothing in the entries points to a structural change.
◆ Prediction
More small additions to forms and design patterns are the likely next entries; the changelog is too sparse to predict anything larger.
