This is a meaningful architectural move toward multi-tenant and enterprise-scale deployments where knowledge bases live in separate services. The parallel 2.4.0-alpha track suggests feature work continues upstream while 2.3 stabilizes.

The 2.3.0 stable release should follow the beta pattern within a few weeks.
