HR tools put AI behind admin controls, with Tanda, Teamtailor and Ashby leading a compliance-heavy week.
The week in hr-recruiting
Admin and compliance controls led the week. Ashby shipped Audit Logs and org-wide AI Notetaker settings, Tanda reworked break rules and extended fallback leave to New Zealand, and Teamtailor restructured locations and requisition filters. AI is arriving in these products as something administrators configure, not just something recruiters use.
Three of the five products also shipped an AI-specific feature this week: Tanda's Reporting Agent, Teamtailor's Smart action trigger and Ashby's Notetaker defaults. The recruiting stack is converging on natural-language configuration with admin-level guardrails.
Leaders
Tanda had the busiest week, with one spark and eight improvements. The Reporting Agent lets users describe a report in plain language. On October 20 it also changed break rules so only the breaks for the longest shift length reached apply instead of stacking, added SMS notifications when a candidate moves stage in Hire and extended single-request fallback leave to NZ.
Teamtailor shipped a spark: Smart action runs a recruiter-written prompt against every candidate who enters a stage. Structural changes followed, with locations scoped per division and requisition filters that take several values plus a Country filter.
Ashby concentrated on admin features: Audit Logs with API-exportable events, configurable approval context, Offer Packet Templates, fiscal-year settings and CSV dashboard exports. The latest lets admins set AI Notetaker auto-fill and personal instructions across the organization instead of per user.
Wildcards
Ever Gauzy shipped twelve builds on October 20 and another on October 21. The visible surfaces were a new project view page and drag and drop on the project board; the rest were fixes and three evening tags that only adjust the egress audit and the uptime probe's Cloudflare rule handling.
Employment Hero is the odd one: its newest entry is a 2026 product recap that names a Payroll Agent next to its Recruitment Agent, and the feed is otherwise compliance notices and explainers.
Themes that compounded
- Natural-language configuration arrived in Tanda and Teamtailor.
- Admin-level AI settings moved to organization scope in Ashby.
- Audit and compliance tooling grew in Ashby and Tanda.
- Per-division and per-region scoping appeared in Teamtailor and Tanda.
Watch this week
Tanda ships near-daily and has award template rate updates in flight, so expect more compliance-driven entries. Ashby released Audit Logs one day before the org-wide Notetaker setting, which suggests further admin controls build on that base. Employment Hero named a Payroll Agent in its recap without an entry of its own, so a dedicated release note is the thing to look for.
