◆Current state
Two threads run side by side in monday's recent releases. One is platform plumbing that enterprise admins ask for: deleting unused status and dropdown labels, mapping board-specific columns into List View, workspace-level exclusions from data-retention cleaning, and email one-time-password sign-in. The other is AI reaching outward — an MCP server that lets external agents read and write boards, and AI Blocks moving from limited access to everyone.
◆Where it's heading
monday is positioning the board as the system of record that other people's AI writes into, rather than trying to own the assistant experience itself. The admin-side work reads as the precondition for that: retention controls, label hygiene and OTP auth are what an enterprise asks for before it lets an agent near its boards. The in-product AI — digests, translation, AI Blocks — is steadily becoming ambient rather than a destination feature.

Expect the agent surface to grow governance controls next — per-workspace or per-board scoping for what a connected agent may read and change — since the retention and auth work already points that way.
