Webflow is shipping on two tracks at once. The visual-builder track keeps maturing — Component Slots that accept real elements, fonts traveling with Libraries, GSAP-backed mouse interactions, live multiplayer on Page Branching. The other track is agent-native: MCP 2.0, a Slack surface, a ChatGPT app, and AEO analytics that now measure brand mentions across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity.

The other is build and supply-chain work — the bundler moved from Rollup to Rolldown, workflow permissions and dependencies were pinned for OSSF scorecard hardening, the vulnerability reporting process was revised, and 7.4.0 fixes a CVE.

The AEO line is where Webflow is putting its weight, and it has moved from measurement to action within a month — first showing what AI says about a brand, now generating the content meant to change it. The measurement side keeps widening in parallel, adding one answer engine after another so the scoreboard covers wherever buyers actually ask. Meanwhile the builder is being repositioned as something agents operate rather than something only humans click, with MCP, Slack, and ChatGPT all acting as entry points into the same site.
◆ Prediction
Expect the AEO agents to fold into the existing AEO analytics loop — measure citations, generate content, re-measure — with the newly added engines feeding that loop, and more of it reachable from MCP, Slack, and ChatGPT without opening the Designer.

◆ Where it's heading
Fabric is closing the gap between being a canvas rendering library and being the substrate for an image editor, and it is doing so through extensions rather than core API changes. The security posture work running alongside is unusually deliberate for a project this size, and reads as a response to being a widely embedded dependency: pinned CI, tightened permissions, a documented disclosure process, then a CVE fixed and announced at the top of a release.
◆ Prediction
Expect the controls extensions to keep accumulating editor affordances in the same pattern, and the scorecard and dependency-pinning work to continue as background maintenance on every release.
