Sanity
Sanity is pruning its MCP server's tool list as AI clients become a first-class surface.
A side-by-side editorial comparison of Scalingo and Tines — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
Scalingo puts JDK 27 and Python 3.15 on the platform days after upstream release.
Scalingo's changelog is mostly platform upkeep: this week brought JDK 27, Python 3.15.0, Go 1.27.2, four Node.js versions, new Tomcat Webapp Runner defaults and nginx 1.30.6. The one recent product change is Application Firewall, which blocks public HTTP/HTTPS traffic from outside allowed IPv4 ranges before it reaches containers. CLI 1.50.0 revokes the API token on logout.
Tines is turning Apps into a first-class build surface with real data access and enterprise controls
Tines is investing behind Apps and Cases rather than the core workflow engine. Apps can now read cases, records and resources through built-in functions, are reachable through the MCP server, and can be shared under SSO. Cases picked up 3B workflows as actions plus layout control.

The platform is competing on currency and safe defaults rather than new surface area: new language runtimes land within days, and security moves into the platform through the firewall and ModSecurity in the nginx buildpack. The rest of the work keeps runtimes and managed databases current.
IPv6 ranges or per-route rules are the obvious follow-ups for Application Firewall, since the launch covers IPv4 only. Otherwise expect a steady stream of runtime and database image releases.

The pattern is Apps graduating from a lightweight front-end into something that queries tenant data directly and ships under enterprise authentication. Each release removes a piece of scaffolding — an endpoint here, a sharing workaround there — that previously stood between an App and the platform underneath it.
Expect Apps to gain write access to the same primitives they can now read, and for the SSO sharing model to extend to the remaining shareable objects.
