What is RankMath?

Rank Math is rebuilding itself as the SEO layer AI assistants query directly.

Rank Math ships a dot-release every two weeks against a stable 3.0 line, so the version numbers understate what is changing underneath. Two tracks dominate: an expanding MCP tool surface that lets external AI assistants read link reports, schema, and keyword positions out of a WordPress site, and AI Link Genius, the internal linking engine that absorbs most of the bug-fix traffic. Content AI moved off credit metering to per-feature monthly limits in April, and June brought AI Visibility, which tracks how a brand appears inside AI answer engines.

What is Postiz?

After six weeks of nothing but security patches, Postiz ships reliability work on the posting path itself.

Postiz is an open-source, self-hostable social media scheduler. The visible record since March is dominated by urgent security releases — one PSA advisory in June, two GHSA advisories in March, each recommending immediate upgrade — with a single new network (MeWe) as the only integration work in that span. The August release breaks the pattern: provider media uploads now stream rather than buffering whole files in memory, a pending-post workflow guards against duplicate posts, and the MCP server got stability and OAuth fixes.

6.3

Rank Math is rebuilding itself as the SEO layer AI assistants query directly.

◆ Current state

Rank Math ships a dot-release every two weeks against a stable 3.0 line, so the version numbers understate what is changing underneath. Two tracks dominate: an expanding MCP tool surface that lets external AI assistants read link reports, schema, and keyword positions out of a WordPress site, and AI Link Genius, the internal linking engine that absorbs most of the bug-fix traffic. Content AI moved off credit metering to per-feature monthly limits in April, and June brought AI Visibility, which tracks how a brand appears inside AI answer engines.

◆ Where it's heading

The MCP work is not a side experiment: each release since May 28 has added or enriched a tool, moving from raw retrieval (links, schema) to interpretation (keyword position trends). Rank Math is positioning the plugin as the queryable data layer an assistant reaches for when asked about a site's SEO, rather than a dashboard a human reads. AI Visibility points the same instinct outward — measuring the site's standing inside AI platforms, not just search results. The fix log says the hard part is integration breadth: Elementor, ACF, classic editor, and multisite all break the newer modules in different ways.

◆ Prediction

Expect the MCP catalog to keep growing toward write operations — an assistant that can apply schema or insert internal links, not only read them — and for AI Visibility to gain the tracking history and reporting that the keyword tools already have.

Postiz
MARKETING
2.5

After six weeks of nothing but security patches, Postiz ships reliability work on the posting path itself.

◆ Current state

Postiz is an open-source, self-hostable social media scheduler. The visible record since March is dominated by urgent security releases — one PSA advisory in June, two GHSA advisories in March, each recommending immediate upgrade — with a single new network (MeWe) as the only integration work in that span. The August release breaks the pattern: provider media uploads now stream rather than buffering whole files in memory, a pending-post workflow guards against duplicate posts, and the MCP server got stability and OAuth fixes.

◆ Where it's heading

The project is working on the parts that fail at scale rather than the parts that demo well. Streaming uploads is a worker-memory fix for large media, and duplicate-post protection addresses the failure mode that actually costs a scheduling tool its users' trust. That an MCP server exists and is being maintained puts Postiz on the agent-accessible path, but this release treats it as infrastructure to harden, not a surface to expand. The six-week gap between releases suggests a small maintainer group prioritizing correctness over cadence.

◆ Prediction

Given that MCP OAuth is being fixed rather than built out, the next visible step is likely more provider integrations or a stable MCP release once the auth path settles. The security-release cadence makes another advisory-driven patch equally plausible.
